Spyderco Manix 2 Blue Sprint
At times it seems like Spyderco is the king of Sprint Runs. Offering short-term, limited number releases, Sprints do two things. They resurrect a previously discontinued classic you may have owned and adored years before and they allow knife knuts fond of an existing model to experience their favorite knife with a different or unique blade steel or handle material. These releases happen several times per year.
Manix 2 fans rejoice Spyderco is making the first of a couple Manix 2 Sprints. A run of royal blue G-10 handle and full flat-ground CPM S30V bladed Manix2 are available for a short time. True to the original, the Manix 2 Sprint has a Ball Bearing Lock which is a hardened free-floating ball bearing contained in a custom hi-tech polymer cage. The round ball bearing allows the lock to self adjust across a large surface, smoothly and consistently locking-up with solid confidence. Evolving over time, the Ball Bearing Lock's strength withstands hard work with a secure, versatile and comfortable grip. Ergonomics are peerless in this design.
The blade on this limited run is CPM S30V a full flat-grind with aggressive thumb serrations (jimping) above a super-sized 14mm Spyderco Round Hole. The Jimping doesn't stop there. With full skeletonized steel liners, the scales have jimping that extends beyond the custom-colored royal blue G-10 handle scales scalloping areas of the handle's perimeter. This one is not slipping out of your hand and works like clockwork with gloves on. The liners pull double purpose by adding rigidly and lightweight strength to the handle.
A three-screw clip is left/right-hand carry, positioned for comfort and deep pocket carry. The knife also has a large lanyard pipe to accept and protect various types of cord or thong attachments
