Re: Spymyto is hot!
What about the blade geometry made it a frustrating experience? The blade thickness? I'm wondering too. Something's wrong if it's peeling cardboard like that. We had a recliner delivered the other day and it came in two large boxes made of really thick card board. I used a SPY27 Manix 2 LW and K390...

[I accidentally posted this in the "What did you use your Spyderco for last" thread earlier, but I meant to post it here so I guess I will now] The factory edge came hair whittling sharp, but the overall geometry made this a frustrating experience: https://i.ibb.co/ZTRxpB8/20240507-062524....

Re: Spymyto is hot!
The huge gap between the lock bar and the scale really bothers me for some reason. The Drunken and a few other models also have a wide gap, as does the Lionsteel Myto. I don’t understand the purpose of cutting them like that, especially when I’ve seen other models from Spyderco and other manufactur...

Re: Thoughts on the spymyto???
Thanks for clarifying what kind of grind the Spymyto has, @Ramonade. Since I missed out on getting a Lil Lionspy years ago, I think I'll try to snag one of these so that I have an Italian Spydie with thick blade stock :smlling-eyes The Lil Lionspy is still in stock at hand-tools. I know the site is...

Re: The XHP knives.
XHP is my least favorite good steel, but I really like a couple models that use it: https://i.ibb.co/MkJscx0/20240424-151418.jpg I don't feel like either is lacking in any way because of the XHP, but I'd probably enjoy both even more if any other semi-modern steel was used. I know it'll never happen...

Re: Experienced Serrated Edge K390 users wanted.
I've had the exact opposite experience, but I also reprofiled mine out of the box.
I got some pretty severe chipping in my SE bd1n p3lw, but I've used my SE k390 Endura a whole lot harder and haven't seen any chipping at all.

Re: Community Sharpening Journal
Is there anyone here smarter than I am who can explain how this could possibly work: https://youtu.be/dTyeLn7kt08 I get how it could work on a knife with axe-like geometry (like the ER he demonstrates it on), but Im not seeing how it could work on a knife meant to function like a knife. Bonus video ...
