Re: Tell Me About The Serrated Z-Cuts
I have many in pe and se. They are both great. Se is particularly good for those that can't sharpen and cut on the wrong surface. They only bang up the tips of the teeth. The scallops of the serrations stay sharp.

Re: Shaman thoughts
Thank you! I posted this before I got the knife. The liner was ok he just didn't know about the D pivot - I assume cause they worked for me. I bought the knife because he said he had a complete of parts for another shaman but the liner was messed up. Worked for me and now I have two complete knifes...

Re: Dragonfly Salt Hawkbill
Such a great little knife. PE Magnacut would be awesome. Would be cool if they did G-10 scales like the PM2.
A hawkbill lil native would also be very welcome in that (or any) configuration.

This one doesn't call my name at all. The optional flipper tab, and the over travel stop are clever though.

Re: Is Spyderco missing out on the fixed blade market?
If the Bow River had been made in the U.S., it would have been something I'd have a hard time resisting, but I have a feeling part of the reason it is so successful is because of it's low price tag as a result of being made in China. To me though, it would be an awesome knife if it was made in Gold...

Re: aftermarket Pivot replacement pm2 and others
Ya, I guess people don't want to send their knife in to warranty or deal with the hoops. I remember needing screws for a Yo2, and for what ever reason, I think they wanted pictures of the knife? It was in pieces because I was doing a swap so I didn't bother. People don't want the third degree as to...

Could be pointier like the Chief. Don't like the lanyard hole placement. Needs an aftermarket clip.

Re: Golden Serrated Salts
Not to mention CE salts. I know I’ll sound like a broken record in this regard, but the total absence of CE in the salt production lineup is both surprising and a little disappointing. Of the Golden salts I think a Manix CE would be my preference, but ideally I’d also like to see backlock in the 3....

It's the replacement part I'm not sure I needed, but apparently they get requested a lot. Replacement pivots for PM2 para3 yojimbo shaman, now available from ripps garage. :exploding-head What about you guys? Ever lose a pivot? I suppose you could mess the threads up on one and want a replacement. I...

Re: Civilian sharpening angle
As the others say, sharpen 20° with the sharpmaker on the scallop side. Then lightly and as flat to the bevel as you can (1°), knock the burr off the flat side. If you have something like a strop block, strop with the corner (edge) of the leather.

Re: Ikuchi, the best Spyderco folding filet knife?
I don't know if it would be worth it to Spyderco to spend the money on Tooling but a fixed blade Catcherman would be cool. I'd get one for what it's worth. (I got 2 of the folders).

Re: Ikuchi, the best Spyderco folding filet knife?
I have an Ikuchi. I would say no. Not only are you going to rust the thing with fish and water getting in the internals, operating the flipper while its wet or dirty would be a nightmare (only way to open knife). I also don't find the blade to be flexible.
