Re: C-60 Ayoob Campaign: No I Won't Shut Up
Yeah, I thought the same thing. I considered making some scales after doing some for a Delica. But the thinness gives me pause. I’d work with wood as opposed to micaeta or G10. I bet some new scales would look good though.

Do you find the Ayoob scales feel thin?

Re: Community Sharpening Journal
This video explains the basic process in simple way, start here... Would you say that plateau sharpening is harder than raising a burr? I feel like a burr is definitive proof that you have reached the apex--or gone too far according to some. I like the feedback, even though it is wasteful. I really...

Very underrated knife. I went to the factory outlet some years back. I planned on putting my mitts on every knife they had. But when it came to the CQI Advocate, I had a hard time putting it down.

Re: Different knife different day, or one knife for life?
There is a certain part of me that likes the idea of having that "one knife" that you carry day-in and day-out. The scales get worn in ways unique to you, which gives your knife character. I find the stories here about knives that have been a constant companion for 10+ years to be really i...

Re: Does anyone have any pictures from the Spyderco booth at the 2024 Shot Show?
In the past, retailers like Knife Center have done a good job at taking video at several of the booths. I would expect the same this year. Not sure how long it takes to edit and post the videos to YouTube however.

Re: Delica 4 in 2024?
What are the chances of a magnacut Delica sprint? Serious question, what's the timeline? I doubt we'd see one this year, but who knows about after that. I have no specific information about why it wouldn't happen this year. These things just take longer than many of us expect. I would say the odds ...

Re: lil Temperance LW parts
Oh man, that sucks. I recently took mine apart for the first time. I didn't expect them to use barrel standoffs. I happen to like that design. If you have the means of measuring the one you still have, maybe there is a matching one on this site? https://www.knifekits.com/vcom/knife-making-parts-stan...

Re: Would a D'Allara 4 with CBBL interest anyone?
What is the value in making a choil-less Manix (assuming they keep the Manix name)? Unfair or not, there is a perception that Spyderco just throws out the same models again and again. This could be exclusives and sprints of PM2 and Manix, a Military 2, etc. So "another" Manix (I use quotes...

Wasn’t there an FRN version of this knife at some point? This model has great lines.

Re: Full handle knife
Definitely check out the the Lil' Temp LW then. I think the Delica carries better, especially when fetching stuff out of my pocket, but the extra thickness in hand feels great.RugerNurse wrote: ↑Sun Jan 14, 2024 6:54 pmNot thick enough. Thin handles are nice in the pocket but sometimes I like a thicker one.

The grip on the Lil' Temperance LW is a pleasant surprise. May not be your cup of tea, but I would recommend trying one out if you live near a brick mortar store.

Re: Delica 4 in 2024?
May I ask where these very nice scales come from? Casey Lynch. They are awesome. I got these in anticipation of the HP Delica, but they are too nice to just hang out in a box, so I put them on my Janlica. I have a feeling I'll be getting another set. I wrote him to ask if he would consider doing so...

Re: If laws and public perception were no issue, would you carry a different knife?
Yes, but my main choice wouldn't be all that different. First, some background. I live and work in the Boston area. You really can't get much more restrictive than that, so my answer is obviously "yes". However, I have a Delica with sentimental value, so that would be carry over 90% of the...

Re: What do you want to see at Shot Show 2024?
When you guys are talking about new designs, is there anything specifically about a design you guys are looking or hoping for? Something practical? Something eccentric? Spyderco has some really neat locks that are not widely available. For example, the back lock in the Chaparral. I’d love to see th...

Re: C-60 Ayoob Campaign: No I Won't Shut Up
I think I'd want just plain titanium handles if this were ever to pass. I know that it can be considered "boring", and titanium + micarta can look quite striking when done well. I just like the unassuming look of plain titanium. I do hope to see the return of the hollow grind if there ever...
