In the Ayoob sprint, there are no washers. There is a raised portion on the liners that come in contact with the blade. Still can’t tell you why it’s so smooth, but that has to be part of the reason.

Is there a correlation between the stepped pivot (like in the PM2) and the two screws?

Moki is located in Seki.

The other Seki-based manufacturer of Spyderco knives is G. Sakai (Gerber-Sakai), which uses the "Seki-City Japan" stamp.

Thanks for reviving this thread. This knife was before my time here on the forum, so it is always fun to go back and see some new-to-me knives.

I know this is a fairly unpopular opinion, but I like the feel of Teflon washers. The Phoenix reissue is such a smooth knife.
