Re: Native Chief M390 sprint run

Nice buy. I really enjoy the Native Chief as well. It’s a large knife with a very slim carry. I also have the M390 version, the REX45, and the S90V which I find the handle a little too slick. I am still holding out hope for a 52100 version. I was going to snag an S90V and at least one M390. I inqui...

Re: R.I.P. Bill Walton

Many people are hurting today due to his passing.

I might know 10 names in the NBA and Bill Walton is one of them. His name has reach far beyond the basketball court.

Re: Native Chief M390 sprint run

Not sure how many of these Sprint Run knives are left but I just bought another Spyderco Native Chief in M390, Satin direct from Spyderco. I may buy another one or two over the next 60 days if they are still for sale. M390 is a great steel! :party-face https://www.spyderco.com/catalog/details/C244GD...

Re: Be safe over Memorial Day

Back in the 90's my then wife and I went down for our yearly trek to Indianapolis for the Indy 500. I think that we attended 6 or 7 times in a row at least. I was driving, and of course we did not know where we were going, and managed to get into an accident. A woman in her early 20's driving 40MPH ...

Re: Martial Arts Experiences Discussion Thread

zuludelta, I never thought about a steel water bottle as a weapon before. Good idea for places where 'weapons' may be forbidden but water bottles are not. I may be wrong, but I imagine that with a partially-filled water bottle, the water inside could potentially increase the centrifugal (?) force o...

Re: Microplastics Being Found Everywhere

It is definitely a very real problem. I am and have been an advocate for plastics/polymers but I am for safe plastics that do not harm people and the enviroment and animals and plants. If we could move to diamond polymers which are nothing but carbon arranged into a diamond like structure, perhaps ...

Re: Your 3d printer predictions wanted

I think 3D printers will vastly improve in speed and ability. The prices will come down. In 25 years people may have a few 3D printers in their home and shop. - 1 to make parts and tools for the garage....tool and parts suppliers will go under - 1 to prepare/mix food and make mixed drinks/lattes for...

My best 2 knives, that I will never sell are ..... I cannot say until I buy more copies for backup! :winking-tongue If I published that info and folks went out and bought all of them up I'd be very bummed out. Keep the thread going for another month, and I'll tell you what I bought! I'll have both ...

Re: What is the single best spyderco configuration you own?

Spyderco makes a lot of beautiful knives. I cannot afford to buy a hundred knives a year since retiring so I just buy what I think are decent self defense knives. Re: The evolution of a car kit

I bookmarked this thread. Today we do not have a car, but that will probably change within the next 2 to 3 months. I suggest everyone have a car kit, and a very light go-bag(could be a shoulder sling) and carry this 5lb bag everywhere that you go. You never know if your car will be stolen or you can...

Forever chemicals are just as bad. https://www.nrdc.org/stories/forever-chemicals-called-pfas-show-your-food-clothes-and-home If you think you're safe, have your blood tested. 3M and other companies that make these chemicals have polluted the entire planet. I think that it was last year that I call...

Re: What did you use your Spyderco for last?

For the past 4 years, 90% of my carry knives have included one or more Spyderco knives. It gets so that it is hard to keep track of them when it comes time to wash clothes and accidentally I put my S90V Native Chief through the wash the other day. No rust yet, but it is nice and clean! Well they di...
