Re: Your Two Favorite Locks
Backlock- It's been around forever for a reason. It's a solid lock design. Nothing really exciting about it, but it reliably does what it's supposed to. Ball Bearing Lock- I just really like it. I don't see a lot of advantages over the cbbl or even the comp lock. They're all great. I just prefer the...

Looks like the box in the picture says C32PS. On that wiki page, it says the C32 is the spur.

I can't say that I'd buy it, but I am interested in what people think it might look like. This just makes me think of the SpyKer. That design was interesting, to say the least.

Re: Spyderco knife clips ?
Maybe with the collective knowledge on this forum, we could make a mostly complete list of which models use which clips. It might help people who are looking for a replacement or aftermarket clip for less common models.

Re: More on Spyderco Slip Joint Folders: 3.5 inch or longer blade desired?
How is the thickness on the dyad? I've never held one, but that's got two blades so I'd think that a new knife with two blades would probably be comparable, comfort-wise.

Re: The C67 R: it's time to bring it back!
2012? So I just barely missed the last R. I'd be fine with vg-10 and whatever scales they put on one. It looks like a solid design and that's reason enough to get one, regardless of materials. The one with the skeletonized scales and solid blade is downright beautiful though. Does anyone have a pict...

Serial numbers
Just out of curiosity, has anyone ever come across a fake with a serial number on the blade? I could be wrong, but it was my understanding that the first run of certain models had a serial number stamped on them, similar to the collectors club number. If someone happened to find one of these, is it ...

Re: More on Spyderco Slip Joint Folders: 3.5 inch or longer blade desired?
I'd love a multi-blade one. I've got a soft spot for those knives. Carried either a muskrat or trapper for most of my childhood. Having more than one blade shape on a knife is much more useful than people realize. I'd be curious to see a spyderco version.

I wouldn't think they are. It's a fairly iconic model at a reasonable price. I think it'll be around for a good while yet.

Re: Cold Steel's Logo-ing
The logos are hideous, but a guy who shows off the toughness of his knives by stabbing them through car hoods probably thinks it's cool to have "BROKEN SKULL" written on the blades. In all seriousness though, they do make some quality products for the price. If I found one I liked and coul...

Re: More on Spyderco Slip Joint Folders: 3.5 inch or longer blade desired?
I wouldn't mind a 3.5 inch slipjoint, but I like big knives and 3.5 would be about the biggest I'd want so a 3 inch would be great. I think that's the sweet spot for a large slipjoint. I'd like something that size with the double dent and a blade shape like the byrd pelican or caribbean sheepsfoot. ...

Re: Pink or purple dragonflies
I saw a place that showed they had purple dragonflies in stock. I think it was called capitol fishing. I'd never heard of them before but I put one in my cart just to see what shipping would be. I think it was 90 and another 8 for shipping. Still quite a bit more than a standard dragonfly and stores...

Re: Why No SAK or MT from Spyderco?
I think spyderco went the right way with the clipitools. SAKs are fine and good, but I honestly don't know what a quarter of the tools on there would ever be used for. Plus I'd rather have two to four good tools than fifteen adequate ones. I noticed there's been no mention of the byrd harp tool. Was...

Re: Not Enough Love for The Stretch
This forum is just horrible... for my bank account. Every time I look at a thread I see something I want. Two in this one. I've always like the stretch. Just never pulled the trigger and bought one. That R though. That's quite the knife. I think I'll need to find one of those someday too.

If it looks like that, I'd definitely be interested. It looks like it'd be a good candidate for the power lock with a blade that size.

Re: 204P Military Abuse
Bodog, Thanks for your service. You're truly a hero. As for your knife though, I'd still continue to use it as long as you're comfortable with it's ability to do what you need it to do . If you have any doubts, I'd retire it and keep it as sort of a trophy. I think situations like this are where you...

Re: What is the most "stable" steel alloy Spyderco makes use of?
This is strictly a guess, but I'd say h1 in a serrated edge. In a plain edge, h1 seems to fall short of a lot of other, more common, steels in wear resistance so it's hard to say. Some people tend tend to value certain attributes more than others too. Those that favor corrosion resistance would prob...

Re: What do you want to see more of from Spyderco?
I'm interested in anything xl sized. I'd like to see something that fills the void left by the tatanka. We probably don't need anything bigger, but that was the about perfect for a big knife.
