Re: The comings and goings of a SwayBack
Bad luck, Michael! I always put the Slysz collaborations in the “functional art” category. Beautiful and beautifully made, for sure. I have to agree. I want to like them, and I do, but their functions users don’t work for me. It's the small, very circular thumb cutout for accessing the lock that ge...

Re: What knives in your collection keep wow-ing you?
Like others when a knife, Spyderco or Great Eastern Cutlery ceases to give me pleasure in the looking, handling, using and just thinking about the excellent design, it gets moved down the road. Consequently, my “wow” knives are: •Reinhold Rhino. Such a superbly designed big/small knife. I have dream...

Re: Talking about your traditional knives
I’m expanding my little collection (we knew it was going to happen didn’t we, Precious). Adding a Great Eastern Cutlery 62 Easy Pocket Congress in unicorn ivory, and a 33 Conductor (clip main with a pen secondary) in Sambar Stag.

Re: The comings and goings of a SwayBack
Yes, that wasn’t a problem. It is basically new. I cleaned off the blood. I could have flogged it on eBay to make a few bucks I suppose but I don’t like the idea. I would rather pay for return shipping and insurance so a knife nut who wants to try one at a sane price will have the opportunity to get...

This clip works on a working knife and is just fine. Would like a pointy tip. I can get VG10 scary sharp.

The comings and goings of a SwayBack
My brand new SwayBack arrived this morning. By early afternoon I had an RMA# for it’s return. It will go tomorrow. I have never had a Spyderco knife that so didn’t work for me. It’s big. I knew it was big because a lot of people said so but plenty of others said it was large but that was not an issu...

Re: In praise of Mr. Ed Schempp
Now I’m all charged up by the Euroedge. What other two Schempps, ethnic or not, are must-haves? Large Persian is probably my favorite design of his. I wish we'd get another sprint run of the bolstered version. And while I really like the Kris design, I'd probably make my second pick a fixed blade. ...

This, along with similar events, is one of the main reasons I continue to support and value Spyderco — an organization full of people with heart and integrity.

Re: In praise of Mr. Ed Schempp
My main larger knife is the Schempp Bowie, although it does not carry like a large knife and I carry it frequently. It looks odd and funky to many folks, and in a sense I guess it is, but all the odd funkiness is there for a well considered out reason. Beautiful knife. Interestingly, all of my Spyde...

Why is he wearing gloves? Regardless, I'm not interested. It's the rare YouTube knife review that can hold my interest for more than about 5 minutes. If I was interested in the Province I'd rather spend that time researching it on the Forums here than watching 25 minute long "tabletop" Yo...

Re: Clips you don’t like do not constitute a fatal flaw
A knife clip is a replaceable optional accessory that can be located in different positions. I appears that some people must have exactly what they want: tip up carry, deep clip, certain color. For them the odds of getting all their requirements in a stock knife are slim indeed. All of those things ...

Re: Clips you don’t like do not constitute a fatal flaw
i'm surprised we still need something as trivial as a pocket clip to complain about with everything going on in the world right now. Well , if you mean "complaining" like in " a pocket clip I don´t like is the end of the world" I am with you 100%! But: Generally it is kind of a ...

Re: Give The Spyderedge A Chance Thread
I'm just confused at some comments saying se is at least as good as pe for everything, when there's some things impossible for it to do, like complete a push cut against a flat surface for instance. Like push cutting against a cutting board? Definitely not impossible when it can push cut receipt pa...

Clips you don’t like do not constitute a fatal flaw
i well recall when the Para 3 was announced after months of unrealistic expectations and super hype. Then came the crash. Wailing. Gnashing of teeth. Moans and woe. How could this happen. How could Spyderco release such a fatally flawed knife after we had praised the idea to the skies? And what was ...
