Re: Para3 - CPM-SPY27 now shipping!
Holy crap is this an improvement! This Lynch clip not only solves my problem shown in my previous post, but it’s 100 times more comfortable and looks better. I can barely feel it at all and can’t make it dig into my hand if I try. It doesn’t carry any different but is less noticeable as it’s not as ...

Re: Maybe small knives are not TOTALLY awful
Personally I like my small knife to be a nice traditional slip-joint in my back pocket, very often a GEC. Something a bit larger in my left front, (I’m a lefty) pocket. Usually a Spyderco. Since it’s arrived, I've been carrying a small for me, Spy27 Para3. Behind the choil, it’s a nice 3 1/2 finger ...

Re: Do you always use grease on your knives or is something
However one single drop of oil will destroy a classic slip joint with Brass liners when stored for long periods. I would say get all the oil off them and use nothing but Ren wax Can somebody explain the physics (or chemistry) of this statement for me? What is it in oil that is harmful to knives wit...

Here in the middle of Canada, we get -40 temps, grease or heavy oil can make a knifes action less than desireable. I like to use fishing reel oil. Something called Quantum hot sauce, I believe is what I’ve got right now and it works great.

Re: Forum search turned up nothing: How do you lubricate the washers on Manix 2 LW?
So, sometimes I need to add a drop of oil but don’t feel like taking the whole knife apart to clean and lube. What I do is loosen the pivot, then with an appropriate sized torx, (because I use a multi bit folding set) I wedge it in sideways, between the scales to separate them slightly. Then a drop ...

With over 40celcius here for the last few days, and apparently for the next week, this guy is putting in some serious overtime! 81F77973-DD31-4FC0-81F5-10501617E9B4.jpeg Beautiful scales. 7058A999-AD70-420B-9865-CE2FD58CEDC8.jpeg Nice. How is the Moore Maker? Do you know who made that one? AFAIK, they have used a couple makers, but I know little of it. It’s really quite nice. I’d say construction wise on par with any good example from case, with a little better finishing. These are ...

Re: Para3 - CPM-SPY27 now shipping!
So the clip is as it looks in pics, nicely rounded. This is a huge improvement as it doesn’t dig in too bad despite landing on a spot where the squared off clip would have made this another unusable knife for me. It does however keep folding over so I’m glad I ordered a lynch wire clip replacement. ...

Re: Good cleaning solution for knife blades to use for food prep?
So as mentioned dish soap is what I use most often. However after breaking down cardboard or packaging I often have glue from the tape on my blade. Soap alone doesn’t cut it. That’s when I turn to lighter fluid. Just a little squirt on a paper towel or right on the blade. Then a quick wash with the ...

Re: Para3 - CPM-SPY27 now shipping!
I ordered one from KSF, it’s in the mail and now I wait. I also ordered a lynch wire replacement clip from DLT. I’m hoping the clip is fine, but I find wire clips most often dig in like crazy and they move around driving me nuts. Looks like it’s rounded in the pics, if so that will likely be a huge...

Re: Knife that won’t chip, won’t roll?
Of my Spyderco Knives I’ve found my GB1 in M4 to be the most resistant to chipping or rolling. Cruwear Manix 2 next. My CRK in s35vn has been outstanding in that regard as have my GEC Knives in 1095.
