My poor unsuspecting Maxamet PM3

Well, I was eviscerating the remnants of a pinata with my pm3, to make a hat for my son, and was having a surprisingly difficult time cutting through a specific section. Turns out there was a 1/16" steel rod forming the structure inside the cardboard. Of course I didn't realize this until after I had literally tried to saw through the thing. Check out what it did to the factory edge. I will sharpen it up tonight and post back with the results.

That's actually pretty respectable for a factory edge. That shouldn't be too hard to repair.

Thats pretty good considering the hardness of the steel. :)

At the time it did not occur to me to look at the rod I was trying to cut. Anyway, all fixed up now. The maxamet sharpened up pretty easily and took a nice polish. I used 18degrees per side, and finished with a 3.5um diamond stropping compund.
