The ATR is a favorite of mine.

I remember when the original titanium version first came out. Back then I was a poor grad student and could not foot the hefty bill on my stipend.

Now that I can buy one, I’ll keep my eye open for one on the secondary market.

Nevertheless, I still enjoy the original stainless (mine is a serrated all black version, which I enhanced with stainless pivot pin and clip). And the newest ATR 2.

I definitely would love to see a sprint run of the titanium, but I read that Spyderco’s source of Ti went under.

Here are mine (I have two copies of the ATR 2

I have two also , SS ATR , ATR2 , both PE . I did have the Ti model when it first came out . Like the original lock better , except the clip is not friendly . I actually prefer the ATR2 over my PM2 variants . MG2

I love this one. My preferred one to tryout would definitely be the plain edged original stainless model. It could even rival the stretch 2 as my favorite harder use edc folding knife. I love the stretch 2 for its simplicity and purely functional approach, but the extra funky elements the ATR takes on makes it a very unique looking knife as well as serving some different functional design features more precisely focused on tactical use, which isn’t necessarily what I require but functional and extra cool looking is always a plus.

This is definitely a model I'd want to have in hand at least once. The A.T.R. 2 especially !

Seems like such a good blade shape too, really interested in how it translates in real life.
:respect In the collection :respect : Lots of different steels, in lots of different (and same) Spydercos.

Robin. Finally made an IG : ramo_knives

The Stretch 1 (disco´ed) will always be among my top 3 folders of all times.
And the A.T.R. looks basically like a Stretch 1 on steroids... really cool. :cheap-sunglasses

Reminds me in shape of the recent PITS. Probably the holes in the handle. I would love to see this one in a sprint though.

I regret not grabbing the second version.

I had the original and loved it aside from the slick handles and the clip.

Second gen fixed those issues but it came out during my "I won't buy detent based locks" phase.

Maybe one will pop up on ebay someday and I'll snag it. Really cool design with very distinctive looks.

I'm a fan of the cobra hood too. Makes the thumb ramp extremely comfortable.

Personally I wish they had kept the original lock and only put the G10 on one side . Just a nit pic thinking out loud . Probably could not do it and still have an ambi clip set up and again just speculating. Dan
