I like the rubber handles on these, I’ve held the Steep Country model with the same material on the handle and it’s really nice and grippy. Too bad they will probably be north of $200vivi wrote: ↑Fri Oct 13, 2023 1:02 pmI can't believe it, BM releasing some interesting knives
I've owned a few in the past but they haven't put out much that caught my eye since the 2000's. The crooked river looked nice but I already had enough folders in that category to want to spend $200+ on a thumbstud folder.
I'll watch for these magnacut models to hit retailers.

Re: Waterproof knives
Out of curiosity I made a strong salt water solution and left this mora stainless in it over night. The only rust was on the spine.

Re: Waterproof knives
if the spine was finished as well as the sides I doubt there would be any rust. they use a very corrosion resistant steel.

If only they made a full flat grind. Be a Great Lake knife. Doesn’t matter if you lose it

Re: Waterproof knives
Only had the Meatcrafter for 3 weeks or so, and here comes the Fishcrafter in Magnacut.
Considering that I rusted the CPM154 Meatcrafter the very first time I used it, I guess Magnacut would have been a better choice for me. I do however prefer the orange color over the greyish blue they chose for their salt water line

If it's mostly for fishing, the Companion Fishing Fillet 090 (S) could be a good optionRugerNurse wrote: ↑Sat Oct 14, 2023 10:16 amIf only they made a full flat grind. Be a Great Lake knife. Doesn’t matter if you lose it
https://morakniv.se/en/product/companio ... let-090-s/
It's not floating though, but affordable enough to be replaced now and then

I am finding myself agreeing with every one of your posts, RamZar. I would like to invite you to see my thread: "Anyone want to see vanax in the salt series?"RamZar wrote: ↑Fri Oct 13, 2023 3:41 pmI think the term would be extremely saltwater resistant because 100% water proof probably doesn't exist.
My earliest are Boker H&K with X15TN steel, Benchmade Triage with N680 steel and Magnum Titan Submariner ALL titanium fixed blade dive knife (one piece titanium with no screws).
I also have knives with H-1, LC200N, MagnaCut and Vanax SuperClean steels.
For folders you have to contend with the weakest links which usually is not the blade steel.
My Quiet Carry Drift folder has addressed all components:
- Blade Steel: Vanax SuperClean
- Body Type: 6AL 4V Titanium
- Hardware: 6AL 4V Titanium (T8)
- Pivot: 6AL 4V & SST
- Clip: Tip-up marine SST
- Lock bar insert: LC200N/Z-FiNit
- Detent: Ceramic
- Washers: Phosphor bronze

Re: Waterproof knives
Plenty of fishing knives in Japan fishing tackle shops.
(Japan tackle is next level compared to US)
A few H1 knives that are not Spyderco
