We need more knives with the "fruity pebbles".

I think it would be hard for NKP to be scared if they are laughing :)

How about a run of fruity pebble kiwi's?

Where did you get the micarta? I'm really wanting to make some scales for a few of my :spyder: s out of that. I love the colors, they really pop.

thanks all i keep making and just see what happens

cobrajoe i make the mycarta myself works great for fixed blades but i am looking for a different epoxy that is still mostly clear and stornger for folder work
that said if you were to be looking to do something that has liners that could work
you see even the "clear" G11 has a green/yellow cast to it and that messes with the colors in my fabric mix
westinghouse used to make rag micarta Tm and now its very hard to come by and i dont even know what they used as the epoxy binder (wish i did)

i think im going to be doing a block of warm and a block of cool color anyone in any art classes will understand
i just keep working on tring to be different in my knife making till i find something that works for me and ends up selling :D got to pay for this hobbie some how

Awesome work, as usual, Butch!!

Are you going to be at the knife show in Adamstown, PA today or tomorrow? I looked for you earlier today, but will go back tomorrow if you'll be there!

That looks great, Butch. I like your "fruity pebbles" micarta, and you sure did well by that ATS-34.

Are you making knives full time, or do still have a day job?

right now no day job :) the stress was killing me /making me drink a lot more then i should so i left
but i cant drive for the next 50 days or so :o guys dont drink and drive its not worth getting caught at the least or maybe hurting someone at the other end (i didnt hurt anyone i count myself lucky that i was just speeding)
so im working on knife making to make ends meet till i can drive again when that happenes i ll be looking for a 3 or 4 day a week job for side $$ till i can go full time for good least thats the plan

the ats34 is nice but im stepping up or side stepping (however you want to look at it) to cpm154
the cpm154 is nicer to work with and seems to take a nicer/faster finish

VW didnt know about the show if i did i might have been able to find someone to take my sorry but up there
im sure at some point i ll bump into you you still need to help make some mycarta one of these days

Butch-

Sorry to hear about your job situation- that's never fun- and I understand how it can get depressing and all. If there's anything I can do, bud, let me know!

As for the show- I will be going back today even though you won't be there- I gotta see what other stuff I can dig up for a deal. It would have been great to see your handiwork in person, though! :(

I wold still love to make some micarta sometime, and perhaps we can do that soon. I could use the time away from work and things, believe me! Drop me a PM when you think would be a good time for you, and give me some time to get the time off at my job, if it's during the week. Otherwise, a weekend would be fine, too!! :D Sounds great!!!
