I saw it and immediately thought it looked like a familiar photo. The photo credits confirmed what I was thinking. 👍

I'm glad this thread got a bump. It's a good thread. Let's continue to chat, randomly, about Spydies.

I’m again reminded that Spyderco is all about the little things.

When Spyderco makes mistakes, they’re mostly small ones (even when we regard them as big). And when it offers a fix to a mistake, it’s mostly small (even if I regard it as huge).

Case in point, my Canis. It’s fascinated me since it arrived early last year, but it’s very slight side-to-side blade-play has triggered my OCD more and more.

I tried repeatedly to tighten it out, but the excessive thread-locker led me to strip the heads of both pivot screws, and still I had the play.

So, I ordered replacement-screws from W&R and waited for a reply, and when it didn’t come, I called. They said they mail out screws every 10 days. So, after a few weeks an envelope showed up with a screw, not two, just one. Grrr. Swapped it in and the blade-play lessened. Sent an email several weeks ago asking for another (the other) screw. Never got a response, but two screws came yesterday. Swapped out the stripped one for the new and, voila, no more blade-play. All is now right in my world.

Like I said, little things; little things that have accumulated and added to my topsy-turbo tension and to an outsized estimate of my problem.

How little a thing did Spyderco regard this episode of mine, I wonder, and how many such episodes does Spyderco take on daily. A hundred?

And what size is the crew that responds to these hundreds? Ten, maybe?

Whatever, W&R effectively made my Canis right and I want to call attention to it. Thanx much.

Very nice! That Persian 2 is super tempting, it's a beautiful blade.
So it goes.

Thanks, Beau!

I couldn't resist it. Even though i don't love trailing points, a NIB discontinued Schempp and it's a size that i carry and a backlock. I love my Kris, and carry it more than i use it. This i will use more for real. The blade stock is a nice 2.5 mm.

The price was nice, compared to the other NIB option i easily found.

I wasn't sure it was a real thing until I got my shipping notice. I take it he had two and you got notification too.

Pretty cool.
