I just decided that the Perrin Street Bowie will be my next Spydie...it never appealed to me before, but after getting an itch for a lightweight tactical oriented fixed blade, it really hits the mark; being from my favorite knife company is a bonus. The Bastinelli Silence Slim was the runner up in my short search...

I actually think it’s most convenient when it’s hot outside and you’re wearing shorts with pockets that might not be able to accommodate say a Manix 2 in size/weight. Throw on the Subway Bowie, and you’re out the door!
I find it cuts very well and LC200N is a fine steel for the job. The grip is very comfortable, too. I hope you enjoy it

I feel you, bro. There's something about the Perrin Street Bowie that really gets to me. Maybe some day.

I hope so, but also: I’ve stopped putting a lot of faith in the Reveals. Knives come out when they come out, no expectations.
I'm happiest with Micarta and Tool Steel.
Top four in rotation: K390 + GCM PM2, ZCarta Shaman, Crucarta PM2, K390 + GCM Straight Spine Stretch.

Re: Random: General Spydie Chat
I've definitely sold more Spydies than I've bought over the last year and am just looking to be surprised at this point. I would always love to see more exciting collabs in the works!
So it goes.

Re: Random: General Spydie Chat
Personally, I am looking for a neat Native 5 (REC Avocado maybe) or PM3. I also want a Shaman but at $275+ the price is too high for an everyday user for me. Maybe they will have another online second sale, had Shamans for $95 I think.
Endura AUS-8, Manix 2 S30V, Alcyone BD1N, PM2 Micarta Cruwear, Native 5 Maxamet (2nd), Para 3 Maxamet (2nd), Magnacut Mule, Z-Wear Mule, BBB 15V Manix 2, REC PM3 10V Satin, Dragonfly Salt 2, GB2 M4.

Re: Random: General Spydie Chat
I'm holding out for more 15V, far as purchasing any more Spydies goes. Hoping for a Native or Para 3 so I have a ~3" blade option in that most fantastic of steels.

Came across this photo when I searched for a picture of my old d2 military
I count six knives in that photo still in the collection.

Re: Random: General Spydie Chat
That there are.
There's 2 or 3 out of the ones I didn't keep I miss sometimes, but keeping only 6 was a result of narrowing down what did and didn't work for me.
Stopped carrying smaller knives, which basically nixed the bottom row. My Dad still has one of those t-mags.
Pkals...eh, cool design but I'd rather carry a gun for SD, and a utility design pocket knife for cutting up day to day stuff.
Preferred the Para 2 to my modded wire clip Para 1.
Kershaw was all about bead blasted finishes back then. When I figured out that's why they'd rust so bad after one day of carry, sold em.
The early Byrds were nice for the price but ended up gifting them away over the years.
Not into autos any more, not that I was ever big on them.
Scrapyard Mud Puppy was cool and the handle was great, but that big unsharpened area bugged me and it was heavy for a small knife.
ATR was really neat but also had a real slick handle that was kind of thin for such a large knife, and never did like that old clip.
The six I kept: Police 3, Pacific Salt 1, Spin, Leatherman Micra, Victorinox Farmer, Victorinox OHT
I wouldn't mind having the first gen Yojimbo and that CF Military back, but my DLC Yojumbo and DLC Military fill those roles better for me honestly.
