Nearly-Forgotten TV Shows, Themes, and Ads
Wait 'Til Your Father Gets Home
I've always remembered this cartoon from the early 1970s. It wasn't among my favorites, and it used to air in late afternoons on weekdays, IIRC. I watched it now and then. I think the last time I ever saw it was back in '74 or '75. I think it was somewhat controversial, because it dealt with adult ussues. It was produced by Hanna-Barbera, the same company that produced many of the Saturday morning cartoons of the 1960s and 70s, like Yogi Bear, Huckleberry Hound, The Jetsons, Scooby-Doo, etc., as well as The Flintstones and Jonny Quest.
When The Simpsons (and later, Family Guy) came out, they reminded me of Wait 'Til Your Father Gets Home, although WTYFGH wasn't overly funny, and wasn't nearly as over-the-top. Without looking up any info on it, I'm pretty sure that this show inspired both The Simpsons and Family Guy.

1979 Timex Commercial
I always remembered this one because of the pocket knife. I thought it could have been a Schrade/Old Timer knife. I suppose it also could've been a Camillus knife (or neither).

Here Come the Brides
This video has both the instrumental and the vocal versions of the show's theme song.
I remember watching a few episodes of this when I was 5 or 6 years old. The show didn't last long. I haven't seen the show or heard this theme song since way back in kindergarten, in 1969...!
One memorable thing was that Bruce Lee guest-starred in an episode (in a non-fighting role). Another episode I recalled had a kid dealing with bullies.

I remember when commercials were good.
Re: Nearly-Forgotten TV Shows, Themes, and Ads
Hanna-Barbera pretty much shaped my childhood. There weren't a lot of cartoons that I watched that they didn't produce.

Me too ! I have to add the Three Stooges which at times remind me of some crazy discussions in General that I laugh at on various subjects. Dan

Same here. IMO, the best Hanna-Barbera shows/cartoons were made in the 1960s, even though they made them throughout the '70s. My favorites were the '60s HB superhero cartoons. They were magical to a little kid back then. It was common for HB to double up different superheroes into one show, if each episode was short (which most were).
Here is one example:

Journey to the Center of the Earth (1967 cartoon series)
Besides Hanna-Barbera, another company that was highly prolific in producing Sarurday morning cartoons during that same time period was Filmation. If I were to liken Hanna-Barbera to Marvel, then I would consider Filmation to be like DC.
I also remember watching this Filmation cartoon during its original run. AFAIK, it never aired on TV again after that; I never saw anything about this show since the '60s, until I looked it up on YouTube.

Anybody else remember the Schoolhouse Rock bits that aired Saturday mornings in between cartoon shows? They came out in the early '70s. They were actually pretty good, and worked like basic educational mnemonics.
"Conjunction Junction" was my favorite, and it's actually a really cool song in itself:

This show didn't last too long. It originally aired on Sunday nights. The older kid next door was a big fan of this show.

Millennium
One of my two favorite '90s shows, along with The X-Files. In fact, the last appearance of the Frank Black character (played by Lance Henriksen) was in a crossover episode with Mulder and Scully of The X-Files.
I never hear anything about Millennium, but it was an outstanding series, IMO. It was very dark and a bit disturbing, maybe even a bit depressing. And obsolete; the whole underlying premise was fear that the year 2000 was approaching. But the show's antagonists were especially creepy, and I liked it so much I eventually got all three seasons on DVD.

The New Adventures of Huckleberry Finn (1968 - 1969)
Full episode: "The Gorgon's Head"
IIRC, this was the first TV series that combined live action with animation. I used to watch it whenever I could, but only recall seeing it a few times. I do remember this episode. I seem to recall it was, or became, part of The Banana Splits show. When you were a little kid back then, this show's episodes seemed epic.
