Performance graphics or just raw data and photos/video? I'd probably say the former is a bit superfluous. What would you guys prefer?
Optimum angle for durability and edge retention. I can't speak for everyone, but that's the only thing that interests me about this material.
Edge retention isn't exactly something that you should need to worry about with this material whatsoever but so far I would have to recommend 20° dps or more. This is where you have to ignore some of the CATRA results that you would use with steel alloys.
Edit: Correction - my recommendation after some more thought about it would swap to 17.5-22.5° ps. It's not going to work like steel.. impacts are going to soften the material, so it's going to 'chip' very different than steel.. you kinda want to expect it to chip after enough use regardless, so while to me, 22.5dps is .. quite fat? This stuff isn't going to perform much differently than it would at 17.5dps like steel, thus my current recommendation. (Everyone I know has their own opinions, someone smarter than me disagrees but it's under the same principle as far as I am educated)
Sharpening on resin bonded diamond with one of them, and I’ve not been able to work up a shaving edge. I suspect that’s me more than the material.
The second I took to the tormek with a 600 grit cbn wheel and completely reworked the bevel at 17 dps, which was close to what was on it from the factory. Then i took it to a leather belt on a ko blade grinder loaded with 1500 diamond paste. This yielded an edge that will shave leg hair, and took maybe all of 10 mins to produce, half of which was changing the tormek wheel and angle.
Hey guys, I signed up on the list for the team mule HIC MT40P when registration first opened up. I got an email about the next drop and I ordered two of them. It went through without a problem but I received no confirmation or anything related to entering payment info. Can anyone tell me if they had a similar experience? I did everything in the proper timeframe and was given no notice that I was too late or it was sold out or anything. I've tried contacting Spyderco directly but I don't get any responses to my emails. I appreciate any help or information about my situation. Since the MT40 is available on the website, how different is the MT40 from the MT40P Thanks.
Hi, @Crisco :
It sounds like there was a glitch in the process. The MT40 and the MT40P are one and the same. Ordering through our website will get you the same item. I'm sorry about the glitch.
Welcome to our forum. We hope you enjoy your time with us.

There is nothing more important than this one day.

Not with me here no, but yes in general I have. It's the cards backend and the payment security systems not being able to talk to one another because it's changing every second as all we have are lawyers in this country. Enjoy your stay

Great, thanks Kristi! Can I ask, if they're the same why the limited runs of the P version?

Hi, Crisco:
I'm sorry if I wasn't clear enough. There aren't different versions. MT40 is the model number, and MT40P is the precise SKU with the "P" indicating a PlainEdge blade. There is only one HIC Mule, and MT40 or MT40P represents the same thing. Regardless of how it is referred to, with or without the "P," it's a limited production run, just like all of our Mule Teams.
I hope this helps.
