We watched The Three Godfathers (1948) the other night. It was a John Ford film staring John Wayne and in typical Ford fashion there was a lot of humor, action. and raw emotion. Great movie. Highly recommended.

The movie stared John Wayne, Harry Carey, Jr. (and was dedicated to his deceased father Harry Carey), and Pedro Armendariz. There were also the usual cast of great actors: Ward Bond, Ben Johnson, Mildred Natwick, Hank Worden, and many other recognizable actors.

I'll try and check that out, Doc.
I always watch the Quiet Man around this time of year. (St. Patricks Day) Really like that movie...

Yeah, my wife and I both love The Quiet Man. Wayne did some of his best acting in the 1948 and onwards. Sure, there were some that weren't as good, but even his last movie, The Shootist, he was stellar and it was so poignant. The Three GodFathers is a really great movie, up there with Stage Coach and his Cavalry trilogy.

Yeah man, I'm really gonna check that out.
I really like Ward Bond & Mildred Natwick
It was a shame Ward Bond died so young.
I think he was John Wayne's best friend.
He & Mildred Natwick did a phenomenal job in the Quiet Man.
But Doc, the most impressive besides Wayne & O'Hara, was Victor McLaglen. (For The Quiet Man)
You talk about one tough sonovagun!
He was probably 65 years old when they shot the Quiet Man in 1951 ( I would imagine 1951 as it was released in '52 if not mistaken)
He was born a couple years before my grandfather in 1886 & he had quite the life!
I looked at some of his younger pics and this cat was one bad dude. Tough as nails
At ant rate, I just really enjoy watching the Quiet Man and I'm certainly gonna check out the 3 GodFathers
Thanks for posting this thread Doc.
