Just got my Surefire G-2 Nitrolon yesterday ;

NEVER have I seen such candlepower in my life! As stated in Java's "flashaholics" thread, I got it in "safety yellow" to avoid

loss. For $34, I recommend all of you get at least this basic model.

When I got my E2e (which is similair in candle power) I and a friend went hiking in Luxembourg the week after and couldn't find the start of our trail in a dark forest late in the evening. The E2e came to the rescue and lit up the forest!
I haven't touched my Maglites since...

Surefire's are definitely the way to go. I use my C2 Centurion here at work, at play, camping, hiking, walking the dog, etc. I am sooooo impressed with their "torches" that I had to get an E2e for my wife! I'm always concerned when she is out working so late. Needless to say, she knows how to use the light and knife better than the average "sheela".

Sad thing though, I'm in the same situation as Ted. I have all these other flashlights that will never used again! Wish there was a way to trade-in your flashlights for a Surefire!

TQ

Allen, Ted & Travis are right. Nothing, NOTHING surpasses the sheer power of a SureFire light! Period!
I have soo many other lights and all the new LED lights because they are so "COOL" but not one comes even close to the simplest SF! If you need light to brightrn-up your world, Go SureFire!

Clipits work!

I'm expecting the arrival of a NIB Surefire 9P today or tomorrow from a recent trade...Those are really bright, and also make a pretty good impact weapon in a pinch, but they sure go through those lithium batteries quick...

I like my A2 Aviator. It's got both LED's and a high-power bulb. The 3 white LED's are nice for close up work,indoors,and saving the batts,and the incand bulb lets you see what's all the way over there.

batteries you say???i am privaledged enough to be the proud owner of the 8AX commander. it's rechargeable. and it's freaking bright. it's the brightest light i've ever owned. i own a 6 D-cell mag and this light puts it to shame. only thing the mag is decent for is use as an anodized aluminum beat stick...

AET -- Great grab guy! And that sure is a great price for that much light.

I love my C2 - and until I got an L4, there wasn't a light out there that could beat it (IMHO).

GNGRATS Al! The SF G-2 has great value! Just received my SF Digital Lumamax L-4.. Not bad! The L-1 is my daily carry.. Just too useful to leave in my drawer..

You are correct, sir! The Surefires have a level of intensity not shared by the LED's (although battery life is the tradeoff). I have been using a rechargeable Surefire on my equipment belt for a couple years, and it's definitely the way to go. The Nitrolon series is a great deal, both for the weight-savings and $$ savings. My Inova LED light is cute, but really not in the same class as either of my Surefires.

So sayeth this augurer...
