For all the talk about tactical and defensive knife use the reality is that knives are just really handy tools to have around. I just got a G-10 Navigator, and have been really impressed, it is built like a tank and allows for a strong grip on such a samll knife. Just this week I was sitting on a bench in the middle of Disney's Animal Kingdom with literally hundreds of people walking by staring at this big hunk of pineapple that simply did not want to be eaten neatly without a fight. I just pulled out my new G-10 Navigator and was able to neatly slice it into little bite sized chunks, all without alarming any of the throngs of sheeple walking by. The stubby little blade just does not seem threatening. A true utility knife.

What a use!
I agree, a small stubby(ie cricket, nav, copilot) blade attracts less attention than something long and skinny(ie military). The sheeple at work and school think nothing of my using a ladybug, but even using the 3" on my multi-tool gets attention.
It's always good to hear other ppl have the same reactions...
We all start with 10 fingers. Those with Spydies have 9 to spare, Still need a thumb. Good thing I still have 8 to spare...

I could not agree more.
As mentioned on previous "referenda" the G10 Navigator is my favorite knife, full stop !
Useful blade, relatively strong tip (compared to cricket), great handle (compared to co-pilot), ...
Can't wait to get my hand on a Meerkat (for a small comparison).
If only a micarta mini dyad with a bit beefier blades would exist ...

Matt, you're gonna like that almite Navigator. Real slick! I'm starting to prefer the Nav's blade better than the Dragonfly's.

I hope so. I really prefer a flat grind, but I think I will be able to handle a hollow ground...
I'll let you guys know what I think of it when i get it...

I've heard a lot of praise of the almite Navigator and have been looking around for it for some time now. Does anybody know of a place where they are available?

I received my Almite Navigator yesterday. It is such a nice little knife. The gunmetal blue scale against the stainless steel blade, lockbar, clip and back spacer looks really nice. I am very pleased. The pivot is kinda tight, but I put some tuff-glide on it and it seems to be loosening up some.
This is a great little knife. I'm very pleased...
