I just got this link off of Gizmodo.com, it's a PDF file with new tips for screeners to watch for concealable weapons.

I guess my Utilikey won't be flying anymore. The Spydercard makes an appearance.
But check out some of the stranger objects: crucifix knife? Lipstick knife? Comb knife?
And they banned the poor lil' stinger as well.
Anyway just keeping everyone informed.

rorschach :
They certainly covered their bases. Note how they missed "Microtech" on the "card knife : manufacturer unknown"! Also the "executive edge pen blade. This research cost the taxpayer dearly ( and is actually availible from Paladin Press in a book titled "CIA concealable weapons catalog" written for the law enforcement community, for $20.00 plus shipping )
If the FBI was really looking out for the taxpayer, they could order it either used or
lower than Paladin's price from :
www.Amazon.com
( that's how I get deals on books ( other than New Haven reads co-operative ))
Check out their website :
www.Paladin-Press.com
BTW : Are these items just verboten "on board", or altogether from "baggage" ( I haven't flown in years & don't miss the experience of popping eardrums upon decent )

Allen:
I pack knives in my checked bags every time I fly. All of these items are OK for checked bags.
So you can't have them in your carry-on but you can baggage-check almost any knives that you like.

You know, I can understand that they are been careful, but really now I reckon they are damn pathetic.
I mean a STINGER!!!!, what will I do, go and threaten to smack the pilot upside the head with a painful punch using my stinger?
Good grief, how those retards managed to take control of a plane full of people in the first place with a knife is beyond me.
You only need 5 men with b@lls to get up and beat them to a pulp, of which I would have been 1st in line to kick the cr@p out of them.
Firearms and explosives I can understand, knifes below 3 inches and things like shortsticks etc., well Im sorry FBI, you guys are been idiots.
They not protecting us, just making long flights that much more difficult.
Thats my 2 cents worth, hope they pull finger n catch a wake up.

I am thinking that:
First: There had never been this type of situation before. IT was always about hostages,"don't do anything and you all will be fine".
Second: There was probably a very violent bloody action to get everybody's atention. Most Sheeple would move away to stay safe.
Third: We don't know what other stuff they had as far as threats. Fake bombs ETC.
Not trying to piss anybody off here just stating my thought's.
I think they should issue glock 21's with glazer(I think that's the airplane"safe" one) ammo to all pasangers

Ye Civilian, true I can see your thought on that, it still just seems unbelievable.
One must know if someone holds up a plane, where are you going to end up?
In some arabic coutry at their mercy?
The thing with this no carry this no carry that is still stupid.
If a stinger is so dangerous, why did they give me a METAL knife and fork at meal time?
That is a dangerous waeapon after all, I think this is really a stupid attempy at trying to look as if they doing something to protect us all.
As far as your comments about letting the passangers be armed, well Ive got a Glock21, Id glady pump out all 13 rounds in those b@$&ards before I go down.
Cheers

Seems to me we just keep accepting more and more "infringements" on the Second Amendment.

MaNcEr: on the first 2 planes, they had no idea what was happening. They just figured they would be held for awhile. The folks on the third plane heard what happened on their cell phones and tried to take the cabin back. You'll also remember the reaction to the shoe bomber;he got dogpiled. The 9/11 stunt won't work a second time because people react different now.
Sword and Shield: they also have what's called BAT(Blitz Action Trauma) rounds. They're hollowpoints that have an opening so large it's filled w/a plastic plug(that pops out in flight) so they'll feed properly. They expand to several times their original size on impact, have low penetration, and great reduction in ricochets. They were designed for use on planes by anti-terrorist units.
