Hello friends,

There was this topic posted some time ago about blue G-10 models... I was thinking that you might enjoy some pics...

It's not mine, BTW...

And it's not quite genuine, but a custom mod. But hey, it's G-10 and it's blue, right?

I started that topic, and I'd sure buy one if it came from the Spydie-factory like that. Hint Hint

Now, I do like that color of blue! Definitely more suited to my tastes.

Looks a little more subdued, darker, than the royal-blue G-10 or the FRN used on some Spydies that I've seen pics of (never actually seen a blue Spydie in person).

Aloha my friend Alex!

WHY do you torture us like this? A G10 or FRN Worker is a dream of mine...'specially an FRN version...Drool...

Speaking of "drool', how's your folder coming along my friend? Hope all is going as planned...keep me posted! Take care!

Daywalker, an Ironstone catalog lists the G-10 Standard as a G-10 version of the Worker (the edge shape is essentially the same, just not the swedge). There's also an FRN Standard available in Japan (Spyderco 'K') with a black blade. Those are as close as you could get to a G-10 or FRN Worker. Also, on the G-10 standard you can unscrew the pivot, so maybe you can swap blades????

DiAlex,
Great pictures. I didn't know if it was a 'factory' version. Looks like one of the 1200 'evolution' workers was used for the modification. I'll have to see about getting my silver G10 Flat grind native built again. Hopefully I can find someone to tackle it.

Thanks. Glad you like it. Here's some more infos from the owner himself:
"If you look closely, the thong tube on the clip side is not flared so that the knife can be completely dismantled for cleaning, unlike the original Commemorative Worker. I really didn’t want another screw put in at the butt end and doing away with the thong tube. Also, I had the rear of the handles shortened by about 2mm which changed the handle profile – minimum handle length for the blade which had to be modified too: The point honed down for strength (the original is too pointy and delicate to be useful) and the whole edge rebevelled to match the point. Also all the insides were mirror polished for super smooth opening & closing. Not a bad user, this one…"

Awright Sal, why not introduce the vaunted
