In considering the selection of a , (and my less-than-expert sharpening prowess)I have generally steered clear of the rev-s's and SE models. I haven't yet attempted to sharpen my SE S30V Native or SE VG10 Endura...haven't needed to.

I have, however, taken the ol' 204 to my VG10 PE Delica and Grey Calypso Jr. Kinda a toss-up as to which is the sharper, but I'd say the Calypso Jr. wins by a nose. Both can cut hair above the skin :o.

What do you own that you find you can really give a nice edge to with the least amount of effort?

Which of the two "super steels (VG 10 and S30V) do you find is easier to get "scary sharp".

What is your technique to get 'em that way?

what spydie do I own that takes a sweet edge with a minimal of work? My ss 'fly... sandpaper on the flats then 5deg(inclusive) above that for the wire. Last touchup was after 6 months of use and took 5min.

I've only had 1 taste of s30v, and thats on a custom...

s60v(military), vg-10(calypso jr lt), and ats-55 are what I have a LOT of experience with. My "sharpest" spydie was my thinned out calypso jr lt. Knocked the shoulders off to about 20 deg inclusive... polished the hell out of that with sandpaper and a strop. Then hit the 800grit stone lightly at around 25deg inclusive. Watch the fingers or you'll be counting to 10 on the floor moving them with stumps.
