what do i have??

i received a fullsize rescue with serrated blade as a gift , wonderfull!!! BUT...

it has the nonmetal handle with a red inlay in the grooves between bumps on the side without the plastic clip, AND a white inlaid "clipit rescue" spyder symbole near the lanyard hole.

will someone please tell me why its colored this way and why i havent seen more like it?

Aj, IIRC this colouring was done by a distributor called Blue Ridge Knives at the time when this model was being replaced by the later version with the ambidexterous clip. There were also some Enduras that received the same treatment. At one time there were quite a few on ebay. Hope this helps.

Welcome to the Spyderco forum!

FYI...Spyderco has in the past produced the Rescue in yellow, white and khaki handles. Now it's available only with black or safety orange. Any colors other than these would have been done after-market, like Blue Ridge's.
