I finally got my hands on a D'Allara today...courtesy of the big brown truck!I picked it up off of Ebay for a song (<$25 NIB)I've got to say this has to be the best EMS/rescue knife I've ever handled! This knife has heavy-duty written all over it! And the story behind its conception is incredible as well! Thanks, Sal, for such a great piece!

Great knife. Ultra smooth action. Don't know about the EMS/EMT side of things but the knife is a great all-round worker. Takes up a lot of space in the pocket though.

The opening is extremely smooth...even more so than my Millie! It does take a lot of room in the pocket, but for what this knife is designed for I wouldn't expect anything smaller. I would love to know the lock strength of this thing! Also, the handle is very "grippy" - a must in "slippery" situations. Only thing I'm not sure of is the wire clip. The only things that I could see that would make the knife better are a larger opening hole and some sort of "jimping" on the spine behind the hole to further enhance grip. My only real "gripe" is that the lock release is a little hard to use-even with my smallish hands- but this is something that is inherent with the ball-bearing lock if I'm not mistaken. But other than that, this knife is definitely hands-down the cream of the rescue knife "crop"!
