Okay, teckno-junkies -

Just from personal experience, and

if you've experience in metallurgy,

what puts VG-10 ahead of ATS-55 ( and

even the others - ATS-34, etc. )

Myself, I just found it takes a good

keen edge.

What say the augurers?

Well, for starters, VG-10 was developed specifically as a cutlery steel for Japanese pruning knives, whereas ATS-55 is a derivative of AST-34, which was designed for jet engine parts!

As in bonsai? Meaning very clean cuts to avoid bruising of stems?

VG10 holds an edge longer, but it's not as tough as ATS-55.

The secret ingredient is either vanadium, cobalt, or love. Could be all three.
