Was the ti handled Lum tanto produced in two versions? Can anyone confirm if there was one with the beadblasted finish and one with an `orange peel`effect handle. Were the 1st 1000 different?

There were a few modifications to the Lum during the time they were produced.

The finish has several minor changes. We made them with both stainless and titanium linerlocks.

There were also a fairly small number made (under 2,000). I think it will become a Spyderco "classic" design.

Thanks for the personal reply but the reason I was asking about an Orange peel effect handle was that I seem to have seen one somewhere but can`t remember where. The ones about now all have bead blasted scales.Do they exist?

They were all bead blasted. I'm not sure what you mean by "orange peel" effect.

Thanks again Mr Glesser, The finish I saw was on a high end folder with ti handles. The finsh was what a silversmith would call planished a smooth but indented finish exacctly like orange peel, very attractive and would give grip to smooth ti.

Hi V34. If there were indents that were deeper, I can't say for sure that it was intentional. We had a lot of problems trying to bead blast the titan consistantly. That is one of the the reasons that we changed to a G10 handle.
