Aloha all!
Well, my said knife is headed on it's way to one of my best buds here on the forum. I truly believe my Harpy is a 1st gen. run. Some of my peers were like,"DON'T do IT!" They think I'm crazy for letting go of such a knife...
The logic is that my forumite friend is worth more than any material object. I MAY be able to replace the Harpy( although i doubt it), but I cannot replace the kindness of this fellow 'mite. I felt somewhat ashamed in that I actually had to think about letting it go...a selfish thing for me to do. BUT...
God was good in that I managed to get a PE Merlin today at the surplus store here. Sure, it's not as rare as my possibly 17yr. old PE Harpy, but it'll go well with my 1st gen Merlin and Spyderhawk.
Don't know why i'm posting this...maybe it's just a perspective thing. The value of a knife vs. the value of a TRUE friend. You all know which one i chose!
This is not to say that I'm just gonna trade away ANYTHING in my collection mind you. I want my daughter to have a few nice vintage Spyders. But in the case of my Harpy...I know I made the right choice. now, there will truly be a part of me with him. I just feel sorry for that next pizza he orders! Who knows? Maybe my daughter will meet a great forumite like I did and send him or her my 1st gen. SS PE CO1 Worker?..NOT! LOL!
