Hello,
I think P.I.G Stands for Pride, Integrity, Guts, I think the police model etching might mean its an older (Ie; not this years production) model. But then I might be wrong?

Cleverclutch,

Welcome to the forum,

The police model you have won should be an older model prior to the newer style with just "police" on the blade.

The PIG Police was the original police model. This version had Pride, Integrity, Guts engraved on the blade.

Hi There
i think the deeply etched POLICE MODEL may have preceeded the PIG mark. I have an Aluminium police with that mark and a SS knife with that mark. Would love a PIG but thay are scarce. BTW I also have an Aluminium knife with no POLICE marks at all. It is all a bit confusing, with no-one able to say for sure what was made when.

Hi Cleverclutch,
I think you might have gotten the deal of the year.
I saw that knife, and thought it would go a lot higher, so I didn't bother to bid (story of my life!). It appears to be an older aluminum Police, with etching POLICE MODEL, which guarantees it's pretty old. I have one of these with shiny aluminum handle (not Tufram), etched the same way. I don't know if any etched models preceeded the PIG, but if the condition comes through any better than the crummy picture on ebay, I think you have a real find. Let us know more when it arrives.

According to the Spyderco Story book it's:

first batch: 2400 PIG model engraved
then "Police Model"
then nothing
then and until now "Police"

there has been many variations of the C07 (tufram, titanium, SS, black coated...)

thanks alot for the information i'm glad it's not a knock off and i was prepared to pay a little more than i got it for, since it looked like it was left handed! hope i can get the stain off of the knife. it looked like someone handeled it with oily hands and put it back in the box for 10 years!

Yeppers .... please do let us know about this one. My bets are that it's SS, but if it is aluminum ... you got a real deal. Of course ... this is the same seller that a day or so ago listed and sold a rare Ti-Police Knife as a Spyderco folding knife. That one got a little more attention though. I think it still went for around $150.

Hello, Stevie Ray
I saw that knife also . How did you know it was a ti ? The bidding seemed kind of strange /it went from 76.00 to 143.00 in a matter of seconds in the last few seconds by bidders who were not even bidding before . It was my first time to see the bidding process though. The only thing the seller said was that it had ATS 34 on the blade. I also noticed it didn't say Police on it but that has already been explained to me. Anyway i'll let you know whats up when i get the knife, or i'll be asking more questions !

AFAIK If it was markes ATS-34 it would have to be Ti.
