I have one that I picked up last summer. It's a very handy multitool lite. A bit too heavy for pocket/belt carry but great in a pack. Prices seemed to have jumped on the bay. I guess these appeal to gadget guys too not just Spydie guys.
I'm on my third (one given away, one stolen, the third is clipped to my waistband now) and I'm with you saying they are great.

Hello davec
They are a great tool but as you say they are a heavy lump if you are carrying one in your pocket. It took me a while to work out how to open mine up!

I own one, but never use it. Just play with it. Maybe I'd use it if I had a mechanical-type job.

I have one, and I like the SpydeRench very much. It's IMHO Spyderco's most innovative design. I use the bug on the SpydeRench as avator.

It's not really any heavier than a Wave with the tool adapter and bits, or a Charge Ti for that matter.
I did worry about the small cross head tip that acts as the closing lock wearing with time but it hasn't shown any significant wear yet.

I just received mine today. It''s rather heavy for a multi-tool but it does have some good applications to it. The 440c steel is for the good. In my opinion, the best field steel around and so underated. It doesn' t have scissors or a wire cutter like the Leatherman and Gerbers do but it does have better pliers. There is a pocket clip on it so that makes the carry easier. What I can say it that it offers some options the other multi-tools don't and it lacks what the others offer. Personally I like it and it will see some carry time since I also carry a karambit. I can use this one for the cutting chores. By the way, JDSpyderco is the one whom I traded with and he's a great man. Thanks for reading my forum!! :D

Yes I do have a Spyderench. I took mine on a trip here this last weekend. I ended up using it about 4 times during the weekend. I use mine along with my Victorinox "Swiss Tool" and find out that between the 2 of them that they are a nice pair of multi-tools to have.
I wish they would bring out a modified version of the Spyderench. There are a few minor bugs in which they could make really make that tool a classic. I would actually like a couple more before they get impossible to find. :) :spyder:
