Does anybody know how many different kinds of Calypso Jrs were made? How many different materials and blades? How many different colors? And thanks to john f jensen for his quick service. I ordered a knife from him on saturday and received it on tuesday. I highly recommend him.

AFAIK, there were four variations:

with stainless steel handles

with black micarta handles

with black FRN handles

and at last with grey handles (last year).

The Calypsos with SS handles had hollow ground blades, the other three had flat ground
blades.

The all stainless steel came in both plain and serrated edge, steel was AUS-8 and blades were hollow ground. The black micarta also came in both plain and serrated edge, steel wa AUS-8 and they were full flat ground. All four of these were sometimes packaged in boxes marked Calypso Jr, sometimes in boxes marked Experimental, but the knives are identical regardless of packaging. The black FRN version came in both plain and serrated, steel was VG10, full flat ground. The current "sprint run" grey FRN come in plain edge only, VG10, full flat grind.

Are you sure the current gray only comes PE? Check Flames-n-knives on ebay, he's got several gray ones for buy it now that look gray. I'd post the address but not sure if I'm supposed to.

Edit: several gray serrated calypso jrs.

There was also a full sized Calypso C54 made with a black Micarta handle only (no stainless version). Overall length: 9-1/8" blade length: 4 " (PlainEdge and SpyderEdge) and it was one of the lightest large knives we made at 3.2 oz. Limited run, probably about 1200 pieces.
