Anyone else got this crud thats going around.
Sinus dranage, throght hurts and bad preasure.Got yellow junk pouring out of my nose and even my eyes. From what I heard its not the Flu(I think the Flu wouldn't be as bad).
Been takeing everything I can find but nothing really helps. If it stops the running then it makes the sinus preasure worse,if it stops the preasure its like a garden hose is running in my head.
Going to go take a hot shower and brew some coffee.

I feel your pain; I have been there, but it was a month ago or thereabouts.
Vicks 12 Hour Ultra-Fine Mist - 1 shot up each nostril, recline head, wait a few minutes, blow nose. Repeat once for good measure. It will burn like fire and drain horribly briefly, but it worked for me to get things cleaned out a bit. A course of strong antibiotics would also have much to recommend it.
Other than that, just try not to die. That being said, you may feel as though you will have to get better *to* die at times with this particular affliction...
Ta,
H
Had the flu last weekend. Fever well over 102 degrees, had bags of ice on me to bring my temperatore down.
I still have drainage from sinuses, with pain from pressure behind my cheekbones. Can't shake it, it just hangs on...

Thats what I enjoy about winter...
dust and pollen allergies make the other 6 months of the year a bitch.

Hope you feel better soon J.
My 6 year old was vomiting today with a bug goign around here. I just can't wait. The wife and I will either be cleaning up after the 3 kids or each other...
Jeff, you have my sympathy. Yesterday I got sick too :(
The only reason why I am at work now is that I got fever just before my shift started
WONDERFUL!!! I took two weeks off starting next Monday. What could be better than spending your holiday in bed?
I'll definitely stay at home the next night! Nothing worse than a nightshift when you have fever, your whole face aches, your neck aches,.... Basically everything aches
Thank god that there is nothing to do this night so I can spend my time with browsing various forums
I wish everyone who is also sick to get well soon!
Cheers, Rob

Hey Jeff, hope you feel better soon. Assuming you're using milk in it, you might try switching from coffee, to tea with lemon, or using lemon instead of milk in your coffee. Have found that, at least for me, there's more than a little truth to the "old wive's tale" that dairy products increase congestion.

Jeff,
Sorry you're under the weather. When I've got bad sinus stuff, I periodically heat up a little water in a dutch oven (just short of boiling) and then inhale the steam for as long as I can stand it. It really does seem to help if you do it every 1 or 2 hours while you're congested.
Jeff, my Mother caught the same thing and has been ill for 3 days. She won't eat nor take any medication. I did get her to take some Tylenol Cold. It's a powder form of Tylenol that tastes like lemon. She did get 2 packets down but she's too ill to eat or drink anything. She's complaining of sinus drainage that just won't stop. I guess I'll be next to catch it? I take her everywhere she goes and I go with her to the stores. Except for the Post Office. She's bent over from arthritis so I'll bet someone coughed or sneezed on her? I am worried about her due to her being 84 years old. I will try to talk her into seeing the doctor on Monday. She's stubborn tho but I've never seen her this ill before.

Fret,be sure to get her to the doctor.I came down with it Monday and the worst of it did not hit until Friday and Saturday.Seems to be better today, still have the preasure but the drainage has slacked off.Last night one nostrel would be stopped up and the other clear.I would blow out a glob the worst looking stuff you have ever seen and as soon as I did that about 2 tablespoons of yellow liquid would pour out of the clear side. The thing with the dranage from the eyes did not start until Friday with last night being the worst of it.I would hate to think about being in my 80s and going through this.
Thanks for all the well wishes,it looks at least with me to be about a 6 to 7 day illness.I hope this isn't just a lull and is really getting better,I was planning on a trip to the Doc in the morning if it hadn't eased off.

Hi Jeff, sorry to hear about your troubles. I know how it is bro. AFAIK, an untreated flu lasts a week, while under treatment it only takes 7 days LOL.
Speaking for my part, I tried with Aspirin, Coldrex and such stuff, but no longer. Now, I take a bottle of wine (prefferably red, but white goes as well), boil it with a spoon (or more depending on how sweet the wine actually is) of sugar or honey, add an apple (previously sliced in four with a trusty Spydie), ;) some cinnamon and then gently drink it all. It not necessarily cures the flu out, but it makes you feel better anyway ;)
Take care and safe recovery.
Jeff, hope you are feeling better soon. Take Care!!!
...be sure to get her to the doctor... Jeff, she won't go to the doctor. Like I said, she's stubborn. I'll probably get her cold and have to go to the doctor.  :)
