If you assess the Chinook, Gunting, and Ayoob for their overall weight difference; you'll have a nice spectrum of heavy, medium, and light weight MBC blades. Granted that each knife has characteristics that help to detemine it's style of use, but I was wondering how the weight factor alone affects combat technique. For instance, I can slash faster with the Ayoob as compared to the Chinook, but would the cutting stroke be as effective? Also, how can one determine if a knife is too heavy for their strength level?
To simplify, do y'all perfer a fast, light blade or a heavier edge that would carry in the follow-through of a slash?
