Chinook & Wegner Rivets vs Gunting & Military Screws?

What is the reasoning behind using rivets on the Chinook & Wegner vs assembly screws as are on the Military & Gunting? Why were rivets chosen and assembly screws chosen on these models?

This is something I have also wondered about. I assume it may be to discourage the disassembly of the lock-backs. Sal??
