View Full Version : Don't Leave Home Without It!!!

Hey all!
The other day I was pondering all the little things I'd never leave home without, and something odd occurred to me. Almost everything I use on a daily basis-or carry on a daily basis-was either recommended to me by someone, or I saw someone using and hunted it down. I thought it might be interesting to do a modified "Empty Your Pockets" thread based more on those things you can't live without everday, rather than just those things in your pocket. And for those of us who might want to take your suggestion or solutions, perhaps we could include the websites where these things come from?
For example, I almost never leave home without the following (perhaps not on my person, but nearby in my car or a suitcase):
Spyderco UK Pen Knife
White Photon Freedom Microlight / www.photonlight.com
Telescoping Space Pen (one-hand opening!) / www.spacepen.com
Pocket size Bible (ESV) / http://www.gnpcb.org/home/esv/
Pocket sized US Constitution (I'm a politics junkie!)
Leatherman Fuse / www.leatherman.com
Kershaw Twocan (small knife/scissors) / www.kershawknives.com
Moleskine notebook / www.moleskineus.com
Apple iPod Shuffle / www.apple.com/ipod
Lego X-pod (I have to have something to pass idle time!) / www.lego.com
Pelican M6 LED flashlight / www.pelican.com
Apple folding windbreaker (Apple store in Cupertino)
That's all I can think of for now, I have to get back to work! :D
I'm eager to see what everyone else relies on daily!

I like these threads,
Either my blue SE or black PE Dodo, sometimes a micarta SE Calypso Jr. RFP
Leatherman Micra and Bic cigarette lighter LFP
Leatherman Mini Tool on belt R hip
I keep a small Maglite in car console and another in a small holster on my belt L hip
I keep a very big (4 D cell iirc) Maglite by the back door for letting my dogs out in the run at night.
Leatherman tool (ancient, bought in 1994) in the drawer by my sink for my wife to use when I'm not around
things i practically never leave home without are my shoes, coat, keys, wallet and my smokes :D

My daily regimen of hardware carry involves:
Spyderco Military CE S30V
Spyderco Dodo PE S30V
Victorinox Swiss Tool X
Surefire 6p
In these times of trouble one must be prepared to get out of "Dodge" in just a few moments notice. Troubled times require the right tools. :spyder: ;)

Jurphaas, if you weren't so far away I'd ask for some Alka Seltzer, my spicy lunch is not sitting well with my stomach today.
A lot of people seem to have those little prybaby's. I might have to look into that...

I never leave the house without my keys. That way I can go back and unlock the door and get all the things I've forgotten to take with me.  :D

Paul - I'll have Ted shoot a picture and we'll put it in this post later on in the weekend OK?
Basically the Mosquito is a grinded down and reshaped LBK.
Something Sal tinkered out and takes with him on his travel. Good little piece for (limited) self defence.
Since Sal told me that in his early years he was the fastest running jewish kid in the Bronxs (did i spell that correct???) it seems to be perfect for a fast runner like him.
