as my title said they have come..

Tomorrow we are awaiting G. W. Bush on a visit to Slovakia, where he should meet Vladimir Putin. (I dont wanna make any political discussions about it!)
As I my office is situated next to the airport, where probably the Air Force One could land (we dont know for sure yet, cause of security reasons..) I decided better to keep all my spydies at home. The Airport should be watched due the newspaper informations by about 400 policemen and about 90 members of military special unit. Since todays morning there were no cops or soldiers on the entrance ways. I dont know if they gonna be there for tomorrow, but decided only to take two SAKs with me, not to stay knife-naked. I hope the SAKs will be enough "POLICE-friendly" and they wont take it away from me.
The program of these two men should take some three days, during them several thousends of security personal will be present in our small town, Bratislava. There are three security zones planned in the centre of the town.
In the first one, there will be increased amount of police and other sec. units present. Second zone will be accesfull only after passing the security checkpoint, frame detector, etc. Third, the most secure, is not accesible for casual citizens, only for delegates, and other stuff.
I am disgusted, because I have to leave my knives at home..

Please, stand a quite minute for my knives, untill the end of this week.

Regards,
JR

I think you could have carried your regular amount of spydies even during the visit.

Dialex:

first two days i was just trying with my SAK.
As I saw there were no serious check outs inside the city, I changed my EDC for the grey Caly Jr. untill the end of the visit..
Hopefully both of the guys went safely home, about 3 weeks ago.

Usually, past days, I carry the grey Caly Jr. and SS endura, both plain edged.

I didnt want to try the devil, because there were several check outs planned between the folks in the inner centre of the town, and I didnt feel like I want to give a special present to anyone of the cops there..

Do the Slovakian cops know of Spyderco? I bet the very most of the Romanian ones don't :o That's why I don't care much to show my Delica - an ugly, junkie looking knife with a plastic handles and wire clip and behold, it doesn't even have a whole blade - they drilled a hole in it! No decent cop would be tempted to seize this one for himself

Geee, considering the know of spyderco, i have a funny story.
Once I went to the court, smartly suitdressed, i knew about the frame (metaldetector) there but somehow was not able to keep all my knives at home, so i have took the little Pro Grip with me. There was a Justice Guard in front of the frame, telling me to empty the metallic items out of my pockets, I have done so, put the keys, wallet, cell phone, and Pro Grip outside the frame in front of the guy on my Filofax - A4 format-European The guy looked in some suspicion form on the knife -usually I used to carry a large voyager at that time - and told me: "ok, but the knife must stay here, during your visit.." I replyed: " no problem, but i want a paper that it is in your hold.. " -to be sure that they are not gonna "disappear" it.- As he took the :spyder: and went to his colleague to make that paper statement about stopping the knife, the other guy asked him:" and he needs a paper for such a plastic crap?!" I replyed with the price it was worth, he just throw a strange look  at me and wrote me that paper( as I read it after there was written: one folding knife - small, expensive !!!)

other strange thing for me that these two LEOs were not a F**K interested for what I have inside the filofax folder (it even didnt had to pass the frame!!!) - I was astonished, because I calmly could pass a submachine gun Vz.61 Scorpion inside    But i didnt, of course :p

Our police troops, some do know the :spyder: , some even have a :spyder: (undercover ones ), some dont know...

Usually the price is the most shocking factor about buying them (here) the salary is about 500-800 USD per month, and the price rof a Endura here is about 100USD, yup its horrible!!!!!  I personally have better price for spyders, the same as the MSRP in US
