You can blame Fherrhet for that Mike. He gets on the computer when he first gets up in the morning and his posts don't make a lot of sense. You should try to understand the emails I get . Have you had any involvememnt with the US kayak team on their way here?

No problem on the name - I've heard it mispronounced, etc., most of my life. Sheems shimple to me.

Clay,

Worked with the coaching staff of U.S. Canoe & Kayak Team (Whitewater) for about 9 years worth and two Olympics as videographer - race analysis DURING race. The U.S. Team has a couple of VERY legitimate medal contenders in both Men's and Women's Kayak Slalom - Scott Shipley and Rebecca Bennet-Giddens. Watch for them. Also if you look real hard, some or all the Water Safety Crew will be using my sheaths. Couple of the guys from '96 Water Safety are working the 2000 event and brought gifts with them. Spyderco graciously donated five Merlins to the current crew and outfitted all of the U.S. Water Safety Team in '96 with engraved Spyderco Rescue Knives. They are cherised items. "Hats off" to Sal and the gang in Golden.

Silly question, eh Mike , I should've known you'd be involved . I wasn't aware of Spyderco's involvement though, however it doesn't surprise me given my own experience of Sal's generosity. I'll make a point of watching the Slalom events (on TV, who can afford tickets ). Fortunately they're on in the first week as I won't be around after that. We've had the best snow season I can remember and I can't resist the temptation to get amongst the spring corn out around Mt. Kosciuszko .

Take care,

Clay
