You broke the clip on your Shabaria? If that is the case, then I know you can order new clips from Spyderco, or at least the Spyderco Factory Outlet.

Copilotboy -- check the home or products links at the top of the page. There is a store at the Golden, CO manufacturing center.

GARD,
This might help...

http://www.spyderco.com/education/care.asp?sts=5%2F24%2F2001+1%3A53%3A24+PM&mscssid= 0SQUSECBFVMF9PHGTCJWFF31LLQPCQ96

If you copy and paste the above address on your internet browser program it will take you to the care and warranty page of this website. Here is the address information at the bottom of that page.

Spyderco Inc.
Attention:
Warranty and Repair
20011 Golden Gate Canyon Road
Golden, Colorado 80403
Email: custsvc@spyderco.com
Phone: 800-525-7770 or 303-279-8383
Fax:303-278-2229 or 303 277-1429

I would try to contact the warranty department first, because it may fall under your warranty. I don't know.

If you just want to buy one, the Spyderco Factory Outlet Store carries them. I can not find the phone number for them at the moment, if I can find it I will post it. Here's the address to that portion of this site.

http://www.spyderco.com/online_shop.asp?sts=5%2F24%2F2001+2%3A04%3A40+PM&m scssid=0SQUSECBFVMF9PHGTCJWFF31LLQPCQ96

You can also click on the Contact Us part at the bottom of each page, and fill out an electronic form so that Spyderco can contact you. They can tell you what to do about replacing your clip.

I'm sure Spyderco will help you in any way they can.

You may have to describe to them exactly what happened. If the clip itself broke, it should be easy to get a new clip. If the screws pulled out of the micarta handle, then you may have to send the knife to Spyderco.

Good luck,
Paul

I remember reading about the clip breakage on the Shabaria by two other posters. Hmm, there might be something going on here--so far no problems with mine. I think Sal offerred to replace the clips.

Maybe Siberia is too cold for a plastic handled Shaberia? Thank you very much.

HI.I has not understood about what plastic speech? Model SABARIA only on the handle has GETINAKS, and clip from steel.

john row

What is GETINAKS? Is it stamped on the blade?
I have a Shabaria. On the blade, it has the stylized "EB" for the designer Eduard Bradishansky, "VG-10" which is the blade steel and "Japan" for country of manufacture.
I'm really not trying to be argumentative just trying to help if possible.
Could this be a knockoff or am I not understanding what you're describing???? The SPYDERCO product is Shabaria NOT Sabaria.

Sal,
I spoke to you at the Blade Show about GARD's problem. I know you wrote a note about it, but I thought I might bring this thread back to the top to help remind you.

Hard to believe that grown men feel it necessary to make fun of a person to whom obviously English is not the native tongue. An awful lot of posts I read on this and other forums are marvels of garbled syntax, poor sentence structure, and horrible misspellings. Rarely is an American hassled for such posts.

It is probably so old a phrase it isn't used anymore, but back near the mid-20th century, there was an accurate title for such folks: The Ugly American.

Stare, much agreed if that was the case, after reading through the post personally I dont think any of the replys where intented to rip the man off, granted his "home language" isnt english and only a bloody idiot would fault him on this, for all those out there who are making a point to drag such a person down, remember, youd suck 10 times more trying to speak Afrikaans.

Come on guys, we here to help, not to hinder.

Hi Gard. Welcome and I'm sorry for your problem. We'd be happy to replace the clip for you.

We have had a few (very few) clips break on the Shabaria. We're looking into it.

I also appreciate the mature and responsible attitude of the posters towards our overseas visitors.

Any communication is a plus.
