Add some ribbing here & there.

Who should i send my Delica to for this work?

is it possible to trade out the AUS-6 blade for the VG-10, if so,
who could do it & what kinda $$$ is involved.

thanks!

The ribs would be simple enough...PM me for extended details. I could do the blade and handle for around $10 plus shipping. A blade change would not be cheap, and would void your warranty unless spyderco did it themselves---that would not be cheap either.

Since you mentioned AUS-6, I assume your delica is a stainless-handled version...There has been talk of new steels in the SS versions, but I don't have a timeframe. I would highly recommend keeping the OEM blade and waiting for the new steels; both due to cost and complications related to fine tuning folders after blade changes. But, I am not the wisest knifesmith around by far.

The ribs/serrations would be simple, though. Good luck!

I think jsholli's recommendation to keep the original blade is the only option. I don't think Spyderco keeps blades of the Japan manufactured knives in stock in Colorado, so a switch by Spyderco isn't likely. The better quality steel blades in the FRN Delicas may not be exactly the same so a simple swap may not even been possible if they did have the blades on hand. Finally, the pinned construction of the SS models makes such repairs difficult. The cost of such work might be more than the purchase price of a new knife.

Again, as jsholli mentioned, Sal has said that with the introduction of the Byrd line an upgrade of the blade steel in the SS Spyderco models will be possible. It will only take patience to eventually get what you want. :D

"Buy an other knife" is aways a superior answer.

Unfortunately, superiority isn't always the correct approach to one's disposition; sometimes, "beating the system" promises more of a reward than just falling in behind the sheeple and filling a demographically predetermined profile.

I say this since I'm developing utilitarian embellishments applicable to practically all SS versions that serve to enhance their slip resistance and overall asthetics. This customization probably isn't nor never will be "available in a store near you" either.

disclaimer: all comments are done so in good spirits w/o malice toward our newfound forumite; BTM, welcome to the forum, Mr. Cook. Keep the wheels turning and the thoughts flowing; I appreciate the oportunity to oblige you all to the details of my future customization of chucklehead's SS delica...I'll definately document the entire process in the case of its materialization, and post the best pics here when completed.
