I am fairly new to this forum business. A couple of my posts included attached images, but the image HTML remains in the text. Why is this and how do I get rid of it? Also, I found some useful editing data on this forum a few days ago, but now I cannot find it again. Where is it?

Thanks and regards

Mike

I haven't used the inline attachment feature... I find it easier to upload to a host and then link the pic. 250free.com is pretty easy to use, and so far has been more than enough space for me. Just have to keep my pics that I post online under 250kb(600x400 pixel works great).

you can try imageshack.us too, very simple to use.
you upload you pic and they give you the link to paste in the forum and you're done! :)

MikeMike, in your "light saber" picture, it kind of looks like you attached it using the Attach Files/Manage Attachments button, then also pressed the "Insert Iimage" button on the menu above the text entry box. When you attach an image (as opposed to inserting one) the picture does not display if you press the "Preview Post" button, it only displays after you press "Submit Reply".

If you are attaching an image, you do not need to put its name in the text of your post, or press "Insert Image" at all. Just press the "Manage Attachments" button, then press the "Browse" button and find the image on your computer, then press the "Upload" button then finally press the "Close this Window" button. That closes the small window, and the name of the picture should show up in the Attach Files area below the text entry box. All that remains to be done is to press Submit Reply and the message should post with the picture attached.
