You roped me in with the title of this thread!
That's one suck I've felt many times before, but I'm always pleased when it's over!

The sucking sound is continual with me. Has been for about 3 years now. I wonder if I can put my 401k plan in Spyders :D

I won the crazy dummybay auction for the obscenely expensive Dyad...By mistake!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Speaking of Paul, why don't you have this one? Did it predate the arragement you made with NGK? At least I have something in common with you now besides a respectful love of spydies! Glad you didn't keep this one at home, but I still didn't expect to win it...I only bid one penny more than the next required bid---and did so with over 4 hours to go; no sniping this time b/c I didn't want to nor expect to win that expensive auction. But, I'm overjoyed with it and realize it will forever be special to me-more so than the Caly full/jr set soon to adorn my office wall. The Dyad and it's letter will have a little shadow box soon, too!

yerturn was definately right... :spyder:fever has went septicemic in me, oh yeah-- 'Feels Good, Too :D  :D

I am going to contact sal later today about getting his blessing and help to become the formost southern source for spydies. I want his recognition more than I rightfully should, and the very worst thing he can do is say no! But regardless, I will still succeed! However, with his help, I will explode with a dedicated vibrance no one has seen the likes of in years!

I will do it if the Lord will allow me to do so; Also, Canadian brothers, start pondering a list of "camping tools" you are interested in...I will send them to you "for repairing" if my lawyer thinks I can live as a free man for doing so. As you may have seen, I'm somewhat of a knifesmith, but even more of a collector: I feel anyone should have the opportunity to own any spydie they want!!! stupid customs  Anyway, when you recieve your :spyder: from me, you definately will have to "repair" it in Canada. I will make sure that pivots are delt with or "lok-tite" is administered to unadjustable models---[I]a standard future practice of mine for all Canadian shipments...tell me which shipping method you all prefer, 'eh?' OK??? [aka: A-Ok ;)]

Most sincerely,
John H. aka: jsholli

I'm with JD and David, it's become like white noise here. Not sure if I could sleep anymore of there wasn't a Spydie somewhere in the pipeline generating it. A SpyKer is on the way from NGK right now, so I slept easy last nite. :D

John, why don't I have which one?

Hey guy it has happened to me about 3 times now. I am finally getting a little wiser. Just this last Sunday I did a little last minute bidding on a Spyderhawk ( A knife I don't mind having an extra one anyway) and I had absolutely no expectation what so ever that I would get that knife that cheap. You got it!! I got the "end of Auction" notice that I had won. It's little things like that, that keep the sucking sound going on a continual basis. ;) :spyder:

One other note: Ebay is so unpredictable so don't place any bids that you are not serious about. It is like a venomous snake. You play with it enough it will eventually bite you!! :spyder:

Yes I Know The Feeling, Of The Ebay Auction You Will Never Win But You Do, A Few Months Ago I Bid $60 On A Para Mil Nib Hours Before The End And I Won!! I Could Not Believe It. So Who Knows Ebay Is An Unpredictable Mistress.

yep! IF you REALLY wan't it you will NOT get it, but if you bid on something "just because it looks interresting" you sometimes find strange emails from Ebay!

 i won, i won! i even forgot i bid on that one! :)

Yeah; I really am excited to get the C44(I think?)/ big Daddy Dyad...especially with the history behind the cool-lector # from NGK...and especially the letter of congratulations on :spyder:-letterhead that's signed.

Now I just have to find the least suspecting finalcial institution(s) in in my area to relieve of their funds so I can pay for the thing  :p ...not really, but that sure would help to ease the gushing outflow from MY accounts.

I'll try to post pics soon.

You know "jsholli" we had ought to start a Dyad club. I have 6 of the big ones and 8 of the smaller C-39 versions with 2 Micarta versions. You paid a bunch for the big Dy but in the long run you did not make a bad decision. The reason I am hoarding them is because I am sure that they will be a classic and maybe sooner than we think with the Ebay prices skyrocketing the way they have been doing. I am going to post my personal top 10 Spyders in a couple of weeks or so. The Dyad ( C-44P&S) will be in the top 3 for sure. Congratulations on a great aquisition and GOD Bless the Great Spyder Factory. :spyder:
