I have been looking for a knife similar to that, then I saw that. Can someone tell me more about it, price, where I could get one(please tell me there still in production).

Thanks

Postal,
That is a Civilian model, C12SG, retail 204.95, currently in production and available.

Call Wright Knife at 1-800-400-1980, Dennis has them in stock.

Spyderco also has a very similar model called the Matriarch, C12SBK that retails for 119.90. It has a FRN handle like the Endura and a blade very similar in size and shape as the Civilian.

Dennis, likewise, has them in stock.

Postal -- sorry to have come on this thread so late. Since you began it with your first post, there is no way to know your level of experience with knives, or purchasing them over the Internet, etc.

In no way do I wish to cast any aspersions towards John, and his referral to Wright Knife. However, I hope that you shopped around in order to compare prices. Having retail prices quoted and a referral to a no-site company makes me a bit nervous on your behalf. I have an extremely long laundry list of web knife sellers, and had never heard of Wright Knife until this thread.

Just as an example, Knife Outlet, a reputable company, sells the Matriarch for $45, far less than the $120 retail price quoted. The Civilian is listed for $140 at Knife Outlet. In its most expensive configuration, with carbon fibre scales, it sells there for about $165.

I buy a lot of my knives from Bayou LaFourche. I also have been buying some from shootist16, on the Blade Forums. He offers excellent service and some great prices. Skylands is a very well regarded web seller. 1SKS, the seller who funds the Blade Forums, says they will consider matching any price offered on the web.

It really can pay to shop around. I've bought knives from every outfit I've mentioned, because at one point or another, they had the best price going on a knife I wanted to buy, of the sellers I was aware of. If I was going pick only one seller, it would have to be shootist16, because he can and will get anything for you. After him, Dennis Bible, I would pick Bayou LaFourche. Unfortunately, Roger doesn't have the largest/widest range of knives out there.

You should consider checking for knives you want once a week or so at Smoky Mountain Knife Works. Their closeout sales prices are amazing. For instance, right now, you can buy 3 versions of the CRKT Mirage for $10 each. I was lucky enough to buy my Wayne Goddard Ltwt there for $30. But, such sales tend to be short-lived.

Sorry if I've bored you with all this info. I just like to see new or burgeoning knife knuts know how to get the biggest bang for their buck when buying knives. It makes this wonderful hobby/obsession even more fun when you get some bargains along the way.

Oops. Almost forgot, the individual sales forum on Blade Forums can offer really good deals. I've bought my first few Spydies there.

I can vouch for Mr. Wright; he handles my collectors' club account.
