+1 for Clive Owen. The first time I saw him, in "The Hire" series at BMWfilms.com, he was outstanding. The guy seemed a natural choice.

I've never seen this guy act, but I am ready for a more serious Bond.

I've been a fan from the beginning, but IMHO Timothy Dalton did the best job of capturing the Bond depicted by Fleming in his Bond books.

I'd disagree that they should change the character just for the sake of change. Literary Bond is not black nor is movie Bond, for over forty years. To make Bond black now would strike me as pandering to gain new marketshare.

If black Popes are important to you, you're in luck. There have been several.
