Making a sprint run of unmarked knives? Some talk has been made of over use of writing or markings on knives and I note that some manufacturers make limited unmarked blades for military use (MOD for example) I forget what term is used for such knives, but as Spyderco knives are readily identifiable anyway. Is this possible?
My sugestion would be a Military and Spyker to start with. A good idea? Or me talking rubbish?
Cheers :spyder:
I could see the benefit in knives for military use, maybe! But, can't think of another reason. Plus, wouldn't it give those into "knock-offs" a golden chance?
I belive they are known as "sterile" blades. Yep, MOD does it and some other companies but none come to mind at the moment.
Could be a good idea and probably lots of interest as many people don't like some of the Spyderco markings on the blade(Police for example) So know you are not talking rubbish:)

I am sure that spyderco fills some very interesting special orders for the Military. They're most likely just too darn classy to use these orders for sterile or otherwise special blades, for advertising or for sale to civilians. I'd love to hear about it, but I am sure that when a military customer asks for 'discretion', I'm sure Spyderco would listen to that. So we are not going to see any of these sterile blades, or ever hear if and who ordered them. So no, I don't think :spyder: would consider it.

my opinion as an ex-military man is that a sterile blade has zero value as opposed to a marked one UNLESS the blade is made by a certain country & distributed in SMALL numbers to units within it's military. this is the only case in which a blade may be used to identify where captured troops may come from & that is also unlikely...
for factory knives, purchased privately, it is useless because anyone can get one, regardless of where they live and\or serve, if i as a soldier carry a spyderco, it only means that i bought one.
it may hold an astethic apeal to some though.
& you're not talking rubbish General :)
I would rather have a knife with the manurfacturer's name/logo on it. That would make it worth more to me. :spyder:
