Got a letter on tuesday from the local tech school, for a "conditionaL" acceptance... accepted pending a copy of my transcript and $200 to hold my spot...
got a letter today that says Sask Ed has sent them my transcript, and I'm taking my cash down on tuesday next week(17th)...
Then I just have to wait for the letter that says I'm in 100% :D Get it and I'm done work for 9-10 months(gonna relax the month before school, at least).
32 week course, 4K, 100% employment out of grad, 3600/month

Chad: well, have to hold off on knives while I'm in there, but afterwards I'll be rewarding myself with "a few".
I think I'll be getting green beans and roasting my own while I'm in school, who knows what I do afterwards.

That's excellent VW. I myself am headed full time back in the fall to complete a mechanical engineering degree. Just out of curiousity what are you going to school for?

brace off: 50lbs to waist, 30lbs to shoulder hieght, 50lbs to carry
brace on: 65lbs, 45lbs, 60lbs
physio has set my limit for work at 40lbs and the brace on... so work isn't too hard on me.
it's still stiff, but not too bad for pain. Spent over an hour on sunday with a 20lbs sledge hammer working on a 16'x16'x4" cement slab... felt like I was moving my wrist in thick gel after until I got a few nice pops and crackles out of it.

Hi Pat - Good to hear about your school plans in the near future. You sure found the right way to move forward. First, remember you're on your own and if you want something, YOU have to make all the moves. Good for YOU so far! I wish you all the willpower and energy you will need!
Go get that education my friend! :)
Best wishes Jurphaas.

Hello Patrick!
Great to see you're off on an edge-u-cation of your own! And
at 3600 a month you'll be doing three times better than me!
A piece of advice : avoid "power lifting" for awhile.

It's nice to hear that kind of story...
Good for you VP...
I too am going back to school in automn. 33 years old, two kids and going back to university to get a specialisation in teaching. I do have this degree for teaching in High school, but I want to specialize my skills to be able to teach to younger elementary kids... Its a completly diffferent challenge...

Good for you VW! I can now honestly tell you from first-hand experience that a good education opens doors and offers plenty of choices. And that manual workeperience makes you all the more valuable to your future managers and co-workers.

Wouter: I've been thinking that most students need to work a year or so of manual labour(before being accepted into school), so they will appreciate using thier heads instead of thier bodies for a living.
Allen: thats 3600CAD... 1.25% conversion right now, around 24-2500usd... And I'll also make more than both my parents together
Simon: had one of my teachers in grade 12 do night classes, and manage to still get our stuff back to us. Dunno how she did it with 2 kids either, good luck to you too.

Hi Patrick. I'm really glad for you, my friend. Extra study (a school, a military service, a sports centre aso) is an extra life experience. Congratulations and good luck.
