Hi everyone,
I'm new to the forum but I signed up looking for some help. Does anyone know where I could find a couple of Spyderco Calypso Jr. folders with the black micarta handles and a plain edge. I'm pretty sure its model no. SC-52-BMP.
This was my favorite daily carry knife and I lost it on a recent trip down south. I would love to get my hands on another.
Thanks for the help.

Hello, MSaxatilus. Welcome to the forum!
I checked some of the usual suspects, plus a couple others. Only found 1 which appears to really have the micarta Calypso Jr. Here is the URL:
http://ndsproducts.com/spyderco.html
They want $65 for it, which seems a bit stiff to me. I've never dealt with this company, just came across them because they carry a Swedish company's knives that virtually nobody else carries. They have a lot of brands, usually a good selection within the brands.
I'd strongly suggest that you connect shootist16, to see what he can do for you. I happen to be one of those odd folk who like Zytel/FRN. A large part of that is a roughly 15-yr-old Gerber LST that looks like new practically. And, in the Calypso Jr, the Ltwt gives you the much better steel CPM440V. I like the grip design on the handles better than any others I've seen by a wide margin. No way it will slip around on you, something that can't ever be said for micarta, unless its bead blasted.
Wish I could have found more possibilities for you, but have a lot of forums to cover.

Hi. checkout e-bay. The micarta version comes up for sale once in awhile. If you've never handled the
newer FRN calypso jr.lwt. you'er in for a real treat. It's more knife than you could imagine. The vg-10
really is a fantasic cutting steel. Spyderco did an excellent job of upgrading the FRN version. It's a
bonifide sleeper. It's more bang for the buck than a lot of knives on the market today. I also own the
large calypso in micarta, but....I carry the small FRN version everyday.

I had both a micarta and FRN handled Calypso Jr. and I actually traded my Micarta one because I didnt like it nearly as well as I like the Calypso Jr. lightweight. It is my EDC. Great knife. Dont let the fact that it has frn handles keep you from getting it...
