Hi! I will be aquiring a lil temp with 440v. I was wondering, how difficult is it to sharpen? I have read horror stories about S60V and was wondering if there is any truth to this. I have a 204 so will this make the steel type irelevent? I thought it would be best to ask the people who know. Thanks!

s60v isn't "hard" to sharpen with proper stones and time.

I usually can touch up my military in about 5min... 10min if I used it hard that week. But I also use courser stones for most of the work.

As long as you don't let it get dull, it's easy to touchup. If it gets to where most ppl decide it's time to sharpen, set aside a full night.

So, as long as I touch it up frequently, the sharpmaker should be sufficent? Or will stropping be enough? I usually touch up my knives once a week with the white stones.

frequency is defined both by usage and what kind of edge you want to keep on it. I just have a working edge on my military, can usually be maintained with the greys once a month. If I'm cutting a lot of rope or cardboard at work, I grab the 800 grit AO stone.

My "standard" is 3 months on serrated and 1 month on plain edge. I'll strop between that, or touch up if I used it hard the week before(and notice a difference in the edge).

I still haven't touched up my pe s30v lil temp, and I've been using it since january.

O.k sounds good to me. Easy to touch up, horrible to sharpen. No problems then! (Maybe I'll have to get a S30V one as well...) :spyder:
