I finally found some neck sheaths for Spyderco knives and want to get one. I carry a Delica 2. The problem is the sheath only comes in for the Delica. I was wondering if the Delica 2 is the same as the original Delica?

I'm assuming when you say you carry a Delica 2, you mean the stainless steel handled version. The Delica is a FRN (fibreglass reinforced nylon ) handled knife. It also has a different clip arrangement so I'm pretty sure a sheath made for it wouldn't fit a Delica 2. FWIW I think a stainless handled knife would be too heavy to carry in a neck sheath. Hope this helps.

Don't worry that the world might end tomorrow, in Australia it's tomorrow already.

I'm not so sure, Clay, that the Delica II is too heavy for a neck sheath. That can be pretty subjective. Some folks are bothered by virtually any weight around their necks, while others hardly notice it.

Knife Dude -- not sure what your source of sheaths is. If it is River City sheaths, then you're certainly at the right place. At least I believe Mike Sastre specializes in neck sheaths for Spydercos. I know I've seen Military's and Wegner's in neck sheaths.

A quick search didn't locate a URL, am afraid. Mike posts frequently on the Custom and Shop Talk forums over at Blade Forums. I can't remember if his signature has a URL or not. Am sure that his e-mail address is handy. If he doesn't have a particular knife for a pattern, then you'll have to send your knife to him to make the sheath.

Normark also makes good Concealex/Kydex sheaths, and could do the job for you, am sure. He also posts in those places, and his e-mail address is readily available.

Good luck!
