A question for BRAM
I am the proud owner of Gunting n°287
Why is there three different screw types on it ???
I mean, torx for the scales/assembly, allen for pivot pin, and phillips for the clip.
well since I'm not in the actual parts or engineering or production department...I might be giving a TOTALLY wrong answer..
screws for the clips are normal philips head..easy to reach...and common to many Spydies
screws holding on the scales are T-6 torx.. better for tightening and flush with the scales and counter sunk...
pivot pin is the same type of concept except its really metric believe and its part of many spyderco's...just like the screws for the clip...
Why? should they all be the same?
Actually I guess it needs an answer from the engineering dept and parts..
knives share many of the same components like in car manufacture...
Oh well...
never bothered me....
Frederic K...I carry a T-6 torx..a 3/32 ( 2.25mm?)..and a small philips.

Hi BRAM thanks for the answer.
In fact, it is the kind of little thing that someone sees and cannot forget until it has an answer.
By the way, I thought it had to do with shared components.
It suits me fine anyway.
P.S. T-6 Torx are really hard to find here in France.
