South African Big Merlin Self Defence

At the Blade Show in Atlanta, Spyderco had a 4" version of the Merlin (or Matriarch) as a prototype that they were developing for self defence classes in South Africa.



1. Please encourage them to take this into production.



2. Does anyone have any info on what moves are being taught in this self defence class?



(Just to refreash your memory this knife has a very aggresive hawkbill curve)

Is it a Matriarch (which is already available) or is it a large Merlin or larger Matriarch?

The Matriarch blade measures 3.8in if you measure straight (not along the curve), so I wonder if this a new knife or a Matriarch?
